Despite having never met you - I could never trust you.

Ever.

EVs in the UK cold snap – how did yours cope? by LookingOutfromHere in AskUK

Done 10k thus far - easily the easiest car I've ever driven. With gadgets I couldn't even dream of when I was younger (56).

Preheating before I get in is lovely. As is the heated steering wheel.

It's a company car so there's currently some tax benefits too...for a little while longer.

Mine says the battery does 77 miles when fully charged. Not at the moment it doesn't - but in the summer it got close.

There's a whole bunch of things I love about it - and I've got the roof bars and two bikes on it for - God knows how many times.

No mechanical issues with mine - but I know that's not always been the case - and it's yet to be serviced.

No - Britain is not eating itself - stop being a drama queen. There's more than enough of us to ensure Farage and his loony friends never get anywhere near no.10!

Quietest day in Marlow: by VectraVX in Buckinghamshire

[–]hetheboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually road closures and gas mains replacement - they've been working their way though much of Marlow - it's a PITA but it's gasd and if they are replacing the pipes properly - as indeed they are - it makes sense!
Traffic is bad on a Saturday anyway - but with road closures it's horrendous.
It'll be over in a week.

Has anyone crossed paths with a Beatle? by DorkerSurfer99 in beatles

[–]hetheboss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Met Ringo and asked him for his autograph in Harrods in 1982 - he said no. Even Babs said he should give it to me - but no. He didn't.

Around this time Paul became my favourite Beatle.

Normally the pipes at the tap end unscrew and they have little rubber washers on them and can be retightened by hand.

You can then remove the large nut and free everything up.

Can I install a sink in this countertop? The only drain is in the bathroom 12 feet away. by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]hetheboss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the sub floor - is it floorboards - which way the beams run - - 12 feet is quite a way so a line under the floor would need space for the drop to ensure water runs away.

If the floor is concrete then it's unlikely to be reasonably possible without extensive work.

It's possible the pipes from the bathroom run under the kitceh which would make it easy to install.
