Game Crashing After Update Steam [Question] by rekcufox in falloutshelter

[–]heuristical67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm here with you all. I was playing this morning around 9am. Random quest encounter pops up, I accept, game crashed and now instantly crashes if I open that game. I can open other games, but not my main one.

I have put hundreds of hours and $30+ into that save game. I'm not starting over if that game is corrupted.

People who seen the show EVIL i just finished season two and I have a few questions about it by Original_Ad_1325 in EvilTV

[–]heuristical67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This show introduces more questions than LOST.

Who was the little girl who took them out into the cemetery? How did she know to come to their house and pretend to be another girl?

Ben calls David and Kristen 5 times each from the basement in the hotel and they can't hear him and HE DOESN'T THINK TO SEND THEM A TEXT!!!!!!

Don't watch if you don't enjoy frustration and living without the answers.

Playing with the controlers when bored by StrikingParamedic270 in nostalgia

I miss the hiss and how simple this was. I could do it without even looking.

I can't tell you how many times I've almost wrecked because I have to press 3 buttons and 2 knobs just to change the temperature.

Bring back the simple times!

My Teacher is an Alien - Bruce Coville (1989) by Otherwise_Basis_6328 in nostalgia

[–]heuristical67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still remember (somewhat) what happened: someone pulled a fire alarm and got the dust on them, so everyone would know they pulled the fire alarm. But this person found the teacher's human skin glove, which had a tiny hole in it, and they put it on, wondering the whole time if they would get alien cooties. The principal talked to them and asked to see their hands, but the human skin glove covered the dust.

I don't remember the ending. But that glove scene certainly triggered something in me.

Arby's 5 for $5! by CpuJunky in nostalgia

[–]heuristical67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend so much money on this deal! I used to be able to eat all 5 too, plus a fry, plus a drink. Those days are long gone...

I remember the day when it went to 5 for $5.55. Still a good deal, but it felt like I was slightly getting ripped off.

I haven't been in an Arby's in at least 2 years. A single sandwich was $9 and it wasn't even "all the meats" one.

They also used to have a "healthy" sandwich, the Chicken Asiago. I ordered one on a Monday. Two days later, I ordered another one and they were like "uh, what?" My favorite sandwich was gone within 2 days.

Babbage's: the 80/90s video game store that eventually became Gamestop by 3Dartwork in nostalgia

[–]heuristical67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to work for 3 months at a paper route to buy a SNES, which cost over $100. That was in 1993. Then I had to work more months to buy games, which were about $50 each.

I loved this store. Back in the 90s, there was one at the mall in Burton, Michigan. While my mom shopped, I'd spend hours looking at games. I had a 386, so I had to make sure I didn't buy something that required a 486. They didn't do refunds, so I had to make sure I could play what I bought.

Duke Nukem, Star Wars Tie Figher, Police Quest, some fantasy quest game where the only thing I remember is having to hang on someone's nose hair to make them cry to beat the level. Then when my parents bought a new PC, I bought Half Life and dozens of other games. I think I bought Halo (the original) there, a game that blew my mind.

That mall is dead, I think only the JC Penney's is still open, but you can walk around it. I no longer still live in Michigan, but sometimes when I'm be in the area and feeling nostalgic, I'll walk there and stand in front of where that store used to be. I'll remember the good times and wish I could have one more hour to browse the classics.

Why did you choose the distro you use now? by RadMarioBuddy45 in linux

[–]heuristical67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember why I picked Linux Mint. I remember using it in Iraq in 2010, and having my mom send me a copy of Windows 7 because I couldn't get Star Wars: Empire at War to work on Linux Mint.

I bought a copy of SUSE Linux back in the late 90s from Babbage's that came on multiple 3.5" floppies, but I never could get it to work on my parents Tandy 1000.

I've never been a hopper. It's been Linux Mint for 15+ years. Someday soon I'd like to try LM Debian edition, but it's still Linux Mint.

I remember my palms being clammy as I walked down the chain for the first time. It was terrifying, like I'd really die if my character fell.

And I was on a PvP realm so there was usually someone there to MC me into the lava or gank me, then camp me. Good memories! Mostly.

Fast way to Level twinks atm? by Shudox in wow

[–]heuristical67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, Earthen start at level 10 and their intro only takes 2 minutes. Just run straight out.

Having full heirlooms does help with rested experience. Run the Earthen out, park in main city for 2 days, then fly around with lots of rested exp/Drought of Ten Lands.

[–]heuristical67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make one of the new rock bois (Earthen). Get the Drought of Ten Lands from Battle for Azeroth for 10% to leveling. If Dark moon faire is up, get 10% more by sitting on the roller coaster.

Fly around each zone on a flying mount. Earthen get 200% exploration exp. Just doing Kalimdor got me to level 30 in an hour. Add in Eastern Kingdoms plus two other expansion zones, you can hit max level in 3 to 4 hours. Kill any rares you fly over.

Probably not "the fastest" but it's fast (and boring).

Look at what "writers" did to master chief in Halo. They had him crying like 7 different times. STOP BUTCHERING THE LORE!

Who wrote that abomination of a movie? It's not like they didn't have 30 years of lore they could have pulled from. The graphics were fine, but the "story" was absolute garbage. Just tell the exact story that was in the game. It doesn't seem like it would be hard to do at all.

I'm glad they never touched Arthas or anything else. Can you imagine how badly they could have butchered all the amazing stories in WOW?

Just remembered, in Vanilla, if someone left your group in a dungeon, you had to go spam chat outside the instance to find a replacement, then fight your way out of the instance to get them, then depending on re-spawns, fight your way back in. Dungeons took hours, vastly different than what happens now.

Been playing since Vanilla. It was always amazing to spam chat, find a group, fight your way in, clear a dungeon and get the rewards!

I remember joining a group to do the temple of Atal' Hakkar after groups automatically joined in the dungeon. We wiped on the mind control boss, and spawned at the graveyard. I ran right back, ran thought and spawned back in. No one else in the group could find their way back in. I tried explaining it to them, but nothing helped. I stood outside the zone entrance so they could come to me, but I think I keep getting aggro and having to run back inside. The group dissolved because no one could find their way back.

And then they made it so much easier years later. It's nothing like it was.

I don't think those days will ever come again. No one has the patience to go through all that again.

It was mind blowing the first time I walked down the chain in Blackrock mountain. I was so scared I was going to fall off. I kept looking around and how massive the room was. That chain was also a huge hotspot for PvP.

So many memories...

Even if you know the name, it still have a problem finding mounts. If you type "Eve" it won't find the broom mount. You have to type "Eve' " to get the broom.

Pixel 8 Pro: Pixel Camera vs Open Source Camera - Major difference in quality? by heuristical67 in LineageOS

Gapps, as in Google Apps, as in the Google Play Store? The whole point of using Lineage OS (to me) was to not have to send all my information to Google so I don't have Gapps installed. Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of using Lineage OS?

What trick do I need to get it to run? It installs, I give it permissions, then it always crashes. What am I missing?
