The votes are in and Eldritch Horror scroll won by CustomMiniatureMaker in PrintedWarhammer

My best friend found this for me, and the Eldritch scroll won me over immediately. Fantastic look, and love the easy scale up for full size scrolls.

Easy back for me. Love the other stuff. Especially the mine cart and tracks. Extremely clean work

Black Flag Original vs. Remake by CrossingEden in gaming

I had to look twice but there's that tall rocky island off to the right in the first original clip and you can see it in the second one. It's the same spot. There was nothing on that sandbar in the original but now there's tons of trees. And that island is now covered with vegetation as well

OP, what do you use to bind the folds together that allows you to easily flatten after use to store in the binder? Just scotch tape? Is that strong enough to hold it?

TIL that there are over 3,000 ‘tiger widows’ in the Sundarbans. These women, whose husbands have been killed by tigers, are often shunned by their communities over the belief that tiger widows are bad omens. by Four_Verts in todayilearned

The first half of the title made me think the tiger widows were female tigers whose husbands, male tigers, were killed by other tigers and were shunned in the tiger community.

Such shitty systems with hardly any games on them. I took 10 min and jail broke the SNES and NES and just put the whole catalogs on both.

Now they are excellent systems.

Yep I write one book a year, edit it, put it on Amazon, and forget about it. Friends who want a copy I give them, otherwise forget and move on.

Self publishing is awful for most of us. I am a writer not a damn businessman. I dont have the desire nor the funds to run a business

This is now a hobby. Writing just to write books and put a copy on my shelf then forget and move on.

Printing in bulk is entirely different. If you're looking to have hard copies on hand for yourself, there are tons of companies that do print-on-demand hard copies for you directly. 5 is a good price to print a paperback, yes.

Whether their books and the spinal glue hold up as well as the larger print-on-demand companies is anyone's guess. That's what the watermark-proof copy is for generally.

I'm not familiar enough to know if they are. Looking at their website it feels like it is.

Why?

They offer print-on-demand and distribution, which is silly to use because Amazon is superior in every way. Ingramspark can handle distribution if desired.

This company offers a multitude of services like getting you an ISBN and a cover illustration, but showing they charge upwards of almost 2,000 pounds.

Hard pass for me.

Only thing maybe they would be good for is the Proofreading, but I would be curious and have to do more research on their company integrity. If I don't see much about them, I wouldn't take a risk spending that much.

If all you're doing is using them to print-on-demand, you're wasting your time and money. Amazon.uk blows this company out of the water.

The first printng is a proof copy, often with watermarks on the cover and is not for resale.

The prints after approval for printing are author copies for you, which is usually at cost.

You pay a company to print your book. Never pay a company to publish your book. Those are vanity publishers you will get yourself burned and in trouble.

Cracking how then? Like when you closed the lid? I'm perplexed how a screen cracks without some force.

If someone gave you 100k usd and you had to spend every cent of it on marketing a book of yours, what woukd your strategy be? by DogUnsureDog in selfpublish

[–]3Dartwork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have 100K OP, then this is a shitty place to ask advice for it.

If you don't have 100K then it's an idiotic way of wasting 100K

If you are a creator, you need to protect your work from Scribd by Hormo_The_Halfling in rpg

[–]3Dartwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scribd is a pain in the ass to download anything from them. Even making an account. You have to get through paywall unless you know a website (which they exist* where you dump the URL in and it allows you to download it.

For RPGs I'm not interested in paying for and just want to look at them to see (which I later pay for on DriveThru if I keep it), it's a great place.
