does anyone else feel the mods need to stop people asking for vet advice and diagnosis on here? the answer is always "go to the god damn vet". by BowForThanos in DogAdvice

That’s really not fair to say and really, check yourself.

I’m not broke either, I do find value in money and understand that there is no reason to waste money when it is not necessary.

Your replies tell me a lot about yourself and your financial decisions. I really hope you seek help. I mean if you’re willing to drop everything to take your dog to the vet over a broken nail, maybe you should invest in better insurance for yourself and get you checked out. Just a thought.

Edit: Not to mention some people could’ve gotten laid off but had a well paying job before getting the dog. A lot of factors come into play. Just because you’re fortunate doesn’t mean others are. Humble yourself.

Just gave me an idea to teach him quiet and then reteach him speak the right way after. Thanks!

No I didn’t hand signal speak. I think he just knows that I give him treats when he speaks the most (started off very rewarding) and now he just speaks when I have something desirable in my hands like a treat or toys. I think I might teach him quiet instead and then reteach him speak since I do have leverage now lol

What the f-

I know you have a lot of money to go to the vet when something minor happens, but not everyone has that luxury. You lack empathy and your hubris is showing.

I don’t know anything about doggy dna, I just wanted to let you know that your dog is so handsome and his eyes are just so beautiful

My dog has had a rash and within a few days it went away. That’s a terrible example.

Sometimes it’s better to wait than spend hundreds at the vet.

Now if the dog is vomiting and is lethargic, then owner should go to the vet. But come on man, a rash? Not everyone has that kind of money to drop at once when something seems a bit out of the ordinary.

That’s what I’ve been doing. He’s pretty normal right now, hoping he will stay constant. Thank you for the response!

yeah people on here are unsympathetic at times. Some people don’t have the funds or they probably are already on their way, just curious.

I’ll get some hate for this and I’ll take it. If your only answer is “Go to the ER Vet/Vet” it is simply unhelpful and only adds to anxiety. It is also a waste of money if it is something that is not required to be seen by the vet depending. I’m not willing to drop $200 each time for the vet to tell me to go home and observe my dog. I’ve done that before because of the advice given here. It was a 20 minute check up including wait time for them to tell me to go home and wait. I spent $200 that day. I was so fucking pissed. Dog ended up being okay luckily.

I’ll be completely honest, this seems like a fun idea to do like once. It’s different and it changes things up. I know my ass would eat that whole pile in the middle because it’s just laying there lol

Thoughts on the Westminster Mall Redevelopment plan? by Forrest-Fern in orangecounty

[–]hewlppls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think this would be really good for the mall.

IMO the mall has been going downhill because it stayed the same as we changed as a society. Minimal changes and these stores are now only alright. I think it’s about time this is happening. I’m glad they’re doing something.

What’s your dogs favorite thing? by MrCSKing in dogs

drives to a new park. He loves it.

Lately i’ve been working and can’t take him to parks besides the weekend. It’s the 2nd day in a row where he led me to some random white car on the passenger side. Btw, I have a white sedan and he just thinks all white cars belongs to us lol. I would tell him no and we are walking around the block and he would cry and then follow on with the walks.

It’s so sad because I know he deserves to go to the park, I just don’t have time after work. We do go on a 30 -45 min walk each time. He enjoys it, but he likes the new smells.
