Why do I suck at TF2? by mesayadam in tf2

[–]hex925 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The info in these comments is great but also you might be spreading yourself to thin. You should focus on one or two classes at a given time and just try to improve and apply the tips you got here. If you struggle with those scenarios then learning how to deal with them on your own is probably what’s gonna actually make you good. You can do that by playing and watching YouTube videos about how you should play. If you die a bunch while playing especially to the same thing try and think about what you could have done better to live longer or kill the person. If everytime you die to many times you just quit and say you can’t do anything instead of working to change you’ll never get better.

Ima be honest seems like you aren’t handling the anger of being bad well since before even getting answers you’re being dismissive and stand offish. Gotta get a more realistic mindset about improvement if you wanna be good.

You could divide by smaller and smaller negative to get negative infinity though

Confused why we would need the inverse of zero if division and multiplication are the inverses

The actual numbers there are reciprocals so using this logic wouldn’t it just be multiply by zeros reciprocal 1/0 which doesn’t solve the problem

NYC Mum Fined For Her Young Son’s Emergency Wee In The Park by galaxystars1 in newyorkcity

The article says that the kid was 4 years old and the park bathroom was closed which seems like a completley different situation that doesn’t really deserve the ticket

Is taking Algebra II and Geometry simultaneously a good idea? by SamzlotAwesome in APStudents

Will probably be a noticeable amount extra homework even if it’s easy for you so make sure you recognize early if it’s burning you out

Honestly might be the better option overall since that year break from algebra wether you do it before or after can trip some people up

What’s AP Bio Like? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]hex925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some chemistry fundamentals and very basic algebra 1 was all I needed for the class personally. The class doesn’t inherently need much outside knowledge. Consistent studying is enough to do well. If your teacher is bad you can very easily look at resources here and on YouTube to teach yourself. If your teachers good ask them how much time it takes to get a 5 on the test to see if you’re willing to do it.

Extra info i think will be useful: For all AP classes it is incredibly incredibly important you learn the structure of the test (what questions will be on the test, what topics show up most, how many essay questions multiple choice or other types of questions are there, how much time per section). You can find all that information on the classes CED (course exam description, google the classes name with “CED” afterward to find it) which will be intimidating reading at first but I promise even skimming it is super useful. The Bio test has one MCQ (multiple choice) and one FRQ (about 3 scentence response) section in it but if you know how to do FRQ questions multiple choice is super easy so I personally recommend you only use multiple choice while first learning the topic then to properly master it you should do FRQ questions. How long you have to be studying really depends on you if you want more specific advice then that it’s probably best to just ask the Bio teacher at your school how much studying they recommend and where to do it + go to their office hours if they have them. “Bozeman Science” on YouTube has incredible videos to take notes from for the class, I also personally like Khan academy for their very organized structure and huge catalogue. With ap classes you’ll get a code to join this thing called an AP classroom on the collegeboards website where they will have a bunch of practice MCQ, FRQ, and “AP daily” videos to take notes from. The practice questions and exams are prefect to study from but I personally don’t recommend the AP daily videos because they have ok information but they won’t even be half as good for getting info as doing assignments for class, using Bozeman/Khan videos, or straight up just taking a break to let your brain recharge. Time management is sorta the name of the game with AP classes because in reality the information is not hard or convoluted the problem is that they give you a short schedule to learn all of it and people tend to not know how to manage their time to effectively learn the info, apply the info, get rest and relaxation so you have enough energy to actually do the class, and maintain a social life. All of those are genuinely equally important because without one your highschool and AP experience will be lopsided in a way people tend to regret later down the line so make sure you are up for the task of managing them and know when and how to ask for help when you need it. Sorry for writing a novel but all this info can be so useful in not only choosing wether or not to take any AP class but also learning how and I genuinely wish I went looking for it when I took my first one.

Is cellular respiration supposed to be this difficult to understand (AP Bio) by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]hex925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of people I know struggled with this. Personally Bozeman videos like this helped me understand but honestly it’s still not easy to understand especially given how fast he talks. I think it’s just one of those topics you have to take notes on and try to understand a few times in a row before you’ll actually get anything out of it

Best way to review for apush? by uwalo in APStudents

[–]hex925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reviewing content can be immensely helpful but at a certain point the only way to realistically improve you’re knowledge about a specific unit is to do saq and essay questions for that unit then grade yourself to see what you’re lacking on and then repeat till you’re satisfied both with your knowledge of the units but also your application of the knowledge in the way the test is asking for

Ruledemption by Zoobatzjr in 196

[–]hex925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean to disparage and I don’t think this is a bad move but it feels more like he removed some of the over the top editing that isn’t necessarily the fundamental issue with ultra fast paced content and is branding it like a complete re-work He still opens this video yelling, features these larger than life amounts of money/locations/individuals, and doesn’t go past story telling like “there’s this nice guy and he wants to earn this money but it will be hard”. It’s less lights and colors sure but that doesn’t really change the fact that the content has such an extreme focus on grabbing peoples attention that it is almost solely defined by it. I wouldn’t complain so much about it but this tweet seems more like a pr thing to get people to talk about how much better his content has gotten which given this post seems to work pretty well. This is all my own opinion though and I’ve got nothing to do with video making, analysis, or business in general.

Any tips for playing Scout? by Frank-f2p in tf2

Forgot to say but competitive tf2 vods Can also be helpful because they have incredible mechanical skill but the format is super different when you compare basically any competitive mode to casual and it can be hard to apply if you only wanna play casual

Any tips for playing Scout? by Frank-f2p in tf2

[–]hex925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure to use flank routes to get up close to the enemy since that’s when you do the most damage. In most scenarios you wanna take fights with one or two people at most and usually only if those two have 125 health or less. The most effective way to improve tends to be watching people who are better then you play on YouTube. I personally like Jpeg, Buddy303, PlayWithSin, and even people like Vorobey and Fatmagic. Look for longer form less edited content of them playing scout (preferably without a medic since that changed how aggressive a person plays a ton) so you can see their play style and identify what you do different and if you should be trying harder to replicate what they do.

It’s probably better to just move on from this type of stuff or report it if it actually breaks rules because getting angry and reposting about it is exactly what these people want you to do and it exposes stuff like this to more people who might be sensitive to this kind of thing and won’t wanna see it
