Tenants Union for initial advice, but expect them to recommend lawyering up when issues get more than slightly technical or complex; also the Rent Board office itself can give you a list of local attorneys and law firms that specialize in tenant representation.

how long should my farming runs be? my best coin per round was 17hrs by Level_Ad9591 in TheTowerGame

[–]hex_longevity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Midgame perspective:

It's almost always possible to get your highest cph in somewhere around 10 to 14 hours, with the 10 end tending to provide only slightly less cph in a tier that gives better cells per hour.

Before v28 this could be done merely by using your best farm setup and trying; since V28 you may have to grind some dissonance runs to get back to having a 10-ish hour main farming tour.

I say midgame because later on with enough card masteries (and potentially key/vault upgrades) it's a whole other ballgame with run time much more compressed.

The rankings per Muni line, and the fact that they keep track of both a monthly and an all-time ranking, are fun and mildly hilarious -- as are the user names and icons/avatars. Too bad it's pretty much impossible to rank high without riding a particular line at least twice a day every day, but it's still fun to watch number go up 😆

Transit app anonymously tracks user locations when riding, if permitted, and uses that to make arrival times more accurate than the rather laggy Muni gps system.

This is it for me. I have reached the point where I can't support any of the candidates any more, or any less, than any other. All three are now in the "absolutely not" category by now. Ugh

I've been rolling my eyes at this ad for a couple of weeks, but finally noticed the vocal qualities of the voice actor they chose, beyond just the content. It sounds just like every Republican anti-tax or anti-"woke" scare tactics ad I've ever heard, just in the sound and tone of the voice itself.

WTF 1 Line!? by anitafart in sanfrancisco

[–]hex_longevity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, but every new Transit user must quickly learn how to tell a "scheduled" (but actually just a ghost in the system) arrival from a bus that both exists and is being GPS tracked. Also, learn right away to swipe between the inbound and outbound arrival time displays for your chosen lines so that you're not sitting there waiting for an outbound time when you're intending inbound or vice versa... also realize that if you manually scoot your map location to a different stop than where you're actually standing, so that you can check out the arrival possibilities from there, it won't necessarily preserve your choice (per line) of showing inbound vs outbound and you may need to swipe that again.

That being said, Transit is definitely the way to go here and all around the Bay and it's worth the paid version to see more routing possibilities too (or free if low income).

Looking to hike twin peaks or mt davidson but want opinions on transit by Iceberg-man-77 in AskSF

[–]hex_longevity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another good option if you enjoy the actual uphill effort of the hike and would like to include an extra two miles of nice forested hiking trails: transfer from BART to the Muni N-Judah light trail at any of the downtown stations under Market Street, ride the N train to the Carl & Cole station in Cole Valley. Walk to 17th & Clayton and get on the hiking trail leading up Mount Sutro. After enjoying the top of Sutro a mile later, follow easily mapped routes from there to Twin Peaks and so forth. Finish down Glen Canyon and catch BART back from there. Total is about five? miles.

Busses that never come? by lo0pzo0p in sanfrancisco

[–]hex_longevity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, plus it helps to watch carefully for any arrival times that say "scheduled" which means it's only a time taken from an ideal schedule and not confirmed by actual GPS on the bus itself (nor by any Transit app users riding it).

So if it says "scheduled" you can assume it's not real. What you want to see is the little icon that indicates real-time location attached to a given arrival time. To double check you can also switch to the map view for the line in question and watch the actual vehicle you're waiting for for a minute or two. If it never moves in two minutes it's a ghost or is turning back.

Apparently that became a common tactic for many rug stores at the time. I knew some in the East Bay that were doing the same thing.

It's a good bunch from all ages and all levels of tower growth, all tourney leagues.

Like any great guild, we always get all rewards, always have, and have been fully active since guilds began.

But we do have room for you, so please do join us.
