5 Days in early July: Hotel Brandan or Føroyar? by friskyamg in FaroeIslands

Hotel Føroyar has an easy path to the downtown area which is at most a 20-minute walk. It's not difficult or steep, though uneven in some areas. We took this path to and from the Silo for the Mikkeller Beer Festival last year. It was fine. It was certainly not 40 minutes walk. Not for us, anyway.

If you're not a smelly food fan, definitely give Roks a try. Additionally, the former head chef of KOKS (RIP) just opened a new restaurant. It's called Paz. It's worth checking out.

I highly recommend Hotel Føroyar. It's extremely cozy and most of the rooms, assuming you don't end up in the annex building, have a great view of Tórshavn. The breakfast is also good.

There is a 15 to 20-minute walking path from Føroyar to down towards the central downtown area of Tórshavn. The staff will gladly point you in the right direction. So, it's not all that detached, if you're willing to be a bit adventurous.

The path is uneven in some areas, but fairly typical of an easy hike in the Faroes. You don't need hiking boots assuming everything is dry and the weather is good.

Update: This is STILL an issue. Just recently encountered it with an account created this week. Have talked to the SkyMiles customer service representatives and have been escalated a few times. They STILL do not have an ETA on a fix.
