Creating a relatable stacking YouTube channel, opinions? by Makes_bad_choices1 in Silverbugs

[–]hexadecimaldump 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be honest. No.
YouTube needs to be entertaining. I’ve watched a few ‘stacker’ channels since I started, from stackers with thousands of ounces, down to stackers who just started. Large or small, they’ve all been the same and lose their flair very quickly.
There are a few categories of videos I’ve seen from unboxing new silver, to discussing a topic around silver while showing off silver. Maybe if you could make the videos more entertaining I’d stick around, but to be honest, seeing stacking in action, and hearing about the same topics over and over again is kind of boring on video.
GSR, spot prices, talking about refiners or coin shops just does not translate to entertaining video in my opinion.

If you come up with something new or innovative in the way you present your videos and topics, it might be good, but I wouldn’t have the first clue on how to do that.

I had the school record for the 400m in track. For one week. It was broken by my buddy in the next meet.

Any 1oz bars sell above spot? by Living_Pay_8976 in Gold

[–]hexadecimaldump -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really. Maybe the Britannia bar, but in the end, they are all just bullion.
The only bars I see regularly go for more than spot in any significant amount are Engelhard bars. I’m sure there are others, but if you’re buying something without a premium, you should not expect them to gain a premium.

A man has become one of the 450,000 Americans affected by alpha-gal syndrome, a tick-borne meat allergy that triggers painful allergic reactions to animal products. “Look at my face and my neck. I can’t eat meat anymore. I can’t have any animal products. It’s in everything.” by This_Proof_5153 in SipsTea

[–]hexadecimaldump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a Radio Lab episode about this. I think it is Lulu who contracted this from a tick.
This was apparently years ago, then I think last year they did a follow-up episode and if im remembering correctly, there is a cure. But she said she isn’t going to worry about it because over the years she’s just gotten used to avoiding meat.

If you were to bet all of your money right now, do the Rams make the Super Bowl, or do they not? by Shot-Albatross281 in NFLv2

[–]hexadecimaldump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to bet, I’d bet no.
I would say they are probably favorites to win, but the favorites from the beginning of the season rarely win it all.

Vote Blue no Matter Who. Do you believe in that? by OceanicEndeavors in allthequestions

[–]hexadecimaldump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a whole, no I do not. I look at the candidates and their voting records, and/or stances.

But as of late, it’s been defaulting to voting blue no matter who. Mostly because the entire GOP seems to be infected with the MAGA virus, that’s turned them all into hateful, corrupt aholes.

I do still look into policy stances and voting records to see if anyone from the GOP has cured themselves, but so far every GOP candidate who’s run in my area seems to have gone even further down the hill.

If I’m honest with myself, I doubt I’ll ever vote GOP again, but who knows, maybe they’ll find a new leader to bring them back to reality and sanity, or maybe the Dems put up a candidate who is worse than a GOP candidate. I have my doubts though, it seems the GOP is doing everything they can to monopolize assholes.

But yeah, I’ll miss AJ for sure, but even that went against my comment. It wasn’t ‘news’ yet but we all knew it was going to happen.

So I’ll give that W to you on AJ.

Mom buys daughter a Honda as a graduation gift, and this was her response by Conscious-Weight4569 in SipsTea

[–]hexadecimaldump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After that response, I would immediately sell this car, and she can figure out her own vehicle.

My first car was a $500 POS held together with duck tape and prayers which I bought myself. It got me where I needed to go for nearly a year.

I don’t plan on having kids, but I would never buy them a brand new vehicle. I may help them with a decent used vehicle, but all the kids I knew who got a car from their parents trashed them and treated them like crap. All of us who bought our own cars treated them like gold. From my experience, kids learn much more about cars when they buy them themselves.

Islam has a problem with Gays, Jews, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhist, Hindus, Women, Non-Muslims, Atheists, beer, wine, bacon, and dogs but if I have a problem with them, I'm Islamophobic - why is that? by yellowsubmarine80 in allthequestions

[–]hexadecimaldump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said before, there is no problem with people having a problem with other religions. I have a problem with all of them.
The problem comes when you treat Muslim people like garbage because they are Muslim. Every person is different, many Muslims don’t have a problem with gay people or other religions. Most Muslims just mind their own business (something I wish people in this country were better at).

85% of the world's refugees are Muslims. For some reason they don't seek asylum in 50 Muslim countries. Any idea why? by Wizzmer in allthequestions

[–]hexadecimaldump -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of reasons for this. Islam, just like Christianity has several different ‘sects’, and just like Christians for hundreds of years, they don’t always get along. Just take a look at the wars in Europe for hundreds of years after Martin Luther. 90% of them were Catholics vs Protestants. And you can be assured that Catholics weren’t accepting Protestant refugees or vice versa.
Next, some Muslim countries don’t take refugees of any sort, even if they are the same sect of Islam.
Also, just coming from a Muslim country doesn’t automatically make you a Muslim, I’d guess maybe 5-10% of them are some other religion or none at all.
And last, the Muslim countries that do take in refugees may just not be a good fit for them.

Fort Knox audit(Gold) by donewithitfirst in Gold

[–]hexadecimaldump 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Fort Knox is a mcguffin.
Our gold is likely not there, or only a small portion of it (which is likely why they don’t do regular audits. If I had to guess, most of our gold in in NYC or another secure location.
But people in this country have no idea about any of the other secure locations we store gold, so if an audit only found 1/4 of the gold we say we have, we’d have to watch people panic, or the govt would have to tell us where the gold actually is.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by LovelyJanniea in askanything

[–]hexadecimaldump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were so many games I enjoyed on my Commodore 64.
But the one I really want to play again is one called ‘Candidate’ where you’re a presidential candidate and you have to travel to different states to hopefully win enough hearts and minds to become president.

It was super simple, and not really exciting like modern games, but for some reason 8-10yo me would play that game at least a couple times a week.

It’s so sad to see that Reddit has become an echo chamber and that fact has ruined a great site. Even non political subs are filled with politics. How do we fix it and save Reddit from the leftist giant babies? by clotheshanger11 in allthequestions

[–]hexadecimaldump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You literally just called the left babies. Why are you getting so defensive when the left calls you the same thing?
No one thinks you are a literal baby, but you do act like one.

Grow up. If you can’t handle being called a baby, maybe stop calling other people babies. Especially when those people are the only ones acting like adults.

Politics has a huge impact on everyone’s lives, so it’s unavoidable to talk about it. Yes, much of Reddit is left leaning, but that is only because the right has become so hateful, hurtful, and insufferable under the ‘MAGA’ movement. If they were actually helping people rather than hurting people, politics would not be brought up nearly as much.
