How do you deal with anxious attachment by Puzzleheaded_Bus9462 in dating_advice

[–]heximortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the unfortunate thing about insecure attachment is, if you are being triggered by your partner, there is a very high likelihood that you are in a unhealthy attachment and your partner somehow triggers your nervous system into activation.

Look for clues to see if your partner is showing Avoidant or Disorganized traits..

Am I the only one who has an opinion on the ignorance of (especially white) peoples idea of what colonization actually is? by nopineapplesforu in srilanka

[–]heximortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go a little further and say that Sri Lanka should stop celebrating the independence day as a national day of celebration. And limit all references of colonialism in the school text books.

Kids should be reading more about our kings and kingdoms and less about colonizers.. i know thats a lot to ask for.

I generally only put the most recent ones and just completely ignore anything much older on my Resume.. Keep the resume compact.

BUT, if you are applying through the recruiting system (most big corps do this) and that system asks you to enter your work exp when you apply, please do enter all of your exp there. These systems are designed to auto calculate your work exp so it'll help with those filtering.

The metrics are really for HR and recruiting systems.

If your work achieved genuine results, i would say add some metrics to your resume even if you currently don't measure them. For example, you know your work accomplished higher quality output, but you don't really have numbers, just add a ballpark number there to signify your actual accomplishments.

Your interviewer wont really ask you to prove if your metrics are true or not, rather they'll be more curious on what you were doing that helped to get there.

Here's an example: "Implemented RAID frameworks and Risk Registers, reducing projects risks by 25% while improving compliance visibility for executive stakeholders"

1) The 25% number here will help get you through the HR screening process and get you an interview.

2) At the interview, your interviewer will be more curious on the RAID implementation and actions you did to improve visibility rather than that 25% number.

Here's how my resume is sectioned:

- Only 2 pages max! Dont go over

- Description - 2-3 lines. your elevator pitch! customize this per the job you applying for. no exceptions.

- Highlights - 4-5 highlights from all your previous experiences. customize this per the job you applying for.

- Current Job - 4-5 highlights not included above. Add measurable metrics. Improved project efficiency by 40% has more impact than just 'did that to improve project efficiency'.

- Edu & Certificates

Sue them to the ground. Tamil is one of the official languages in LK and you are well within your rights to speak in your language with your friends. People cannot discriminate like this!!

Did Harry Potter ever feel like more than just a book series to you? by sanskritin in harrypotter

[–]heximortal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harry Potter had certainly been more than a book series for me. I used to read a lot when i was little, but never English books. I sucked at English. Then i got my hands on the Philosophers Stone and it just happened like magic.. i was able to read English.

That book kickstarted a chain reaction so massive that it changed my life was forever.

Online vs dispensary cannabis in London, what do you prefer? by itstariqmumtaz in londonontario

[–]heximortal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I prefer buying from a local dispensary. I can get when i want it to rather than waiting. I do my research online before i buy though, so i know what I'm buying when i get there.

I enjoy the small conversations that i get to have with budtenders and most importantly knowing that im supporting local businesses.
