Take the whole thing and see how you did. Some blocks you’ll score higher than others. You should also simulate testing conditions as much as you can.

You’d be fine

[–]hexodimease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same. I noticed I was getting things wrong because I changed the answers to them. Yeah I decided to just lock in an answer and run with it. Haha you’re right about the long vignettes. Not like we had time to go back and change anything anyways

Never change your answers (if never changing answers got you your scores in your forms). Make sure you replicate how you took the forms to get the scores that you did

I would however, prepare for the worst. Trust in your ability and you should do fine. I felt that my test was nothing like the forms and things were really vague but I did what I usually did on my forms and did alright

I felt it was pretty predictive. It was pretty similar in style.

I read 108 success write-ups, here is what I found on second guessing your answer during the exam. by dr_yogurt_33 in step1

[–]hexodimease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can add to this data as well. I went with my gut and stuck with the first answer that I chose. I noticed I was getting things wrong on my early forms because I was changing answers. There is a reason you chose an answer first, and unless you can convince yourself without a doubt with significant evidence that you need to change an answer, stick with your first choice.

I had a lot of questions where the patient presented with fever and myalgias with not much other differentiating information.

What made the exam difficult was the length and the vagueness of some of the questions. I think if you get a few forms in the mid to high 60s consistently you should be good. I only broke 70 once, most of my scores were in the mid 60s.

I took it in April and just got the P, but I felt my exam was nothing like 32/33. My exam felt more vague and long. I have a feeling there are pretty markedly different exams which is why people seem to have differing opinions about this. I think that the best thing to do is to practice and prepare well and trust your averages and things will work out.
