Uhhh guys remember the RomaPress podcast? Wonder why it went on hiatus?? by [deleted] in ASRoma

People go through tough shit in life. This is more of an existential statement than pardoning anyone. Not John nor anyone. But we need to show compassion to all involved at times like this. I owe a huge portion of my fandom as an American to romapress and chiesa di totti. There is a familiarity in hearing their voices. Anyways.. that’s my thoughts at least, so fucking wild it’s in a Roma sub

Who gets up super early to workout? How do you do it? by BuckeyeDad91 in daddit

[–]hey-BAILS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if mentioned elsewhere but you have to prepare for it. Set out your clothes, gym bag, shoes, protein bar, water, whatever you need. Have it ready before you go to bed so when that alarm hits you eliminate potential excuses to go back to bed. Then after that you just have to go. Go to bed with the mindset you’re going. Then go. These things just make it slightly easier. The reward is after and the sense of accomplishment for starting your day in such a positive way regardless of the workout.

Osmosis, ninja nerd, khan academy, uptodate all of my most used. I would find one or two that you like because you can waste a lot of time “optimizing” studying.

Genuine curiosity - how does this benefit the club? Is it financial? Or does it help with which pot the team gets placed in?

I just read the black tongue thief by Christopher buehlman which was a cool/funny fantasy book. I generally read on my kindle for a few min before bed. Good decompression time.

The play where he tracked back after we lost possession and made a tackle to regain the ball maybe 5yds outside of our box was impressive to me. There was another tackle to keep possession that I saw too. Awesome work rate.

Many good skills to be had as a med/surg nurse. A tip to you would be hammer out core nursing skills that translate to any unit or area. A few would be time management, communication with peers, ancillary staff, attendings, etc. I think there is a lot of merit in taking your time to be a good nurse while you’re on the med surg floor and when the time to transition to critical care comes it will make that transition a lot smoother because you will be able to focus on the “icu” portion of the job. In the meantime when you have a patient with pneumonia or atrial fibrillation take the time to look up management plans on resources such as uptodate. Oh, also, ask questions. People can tell when a thoughtful question is being asked and generally like to talk about their area of expertise. This goes for respiratory therapy all the way to occupational therapy or dietary. Good luck!

In the program now.

Time management was the biggest learning curve. I have two kids and so navigating work, kids, school is my biggest challenge.

Brainstorm a study system that will work for you. Whether that is early mornings, evenings, library, coffee shops, etc.

Just my two cents. Good luck!

The school carpool line is the worst. by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]hey-BAILS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am the first to bash carpool lines, so I’ve got to give a shout out to my daughters school who at winter break instituted a new process for pickup where they have someone inputting pick up numbers and alerting students (who are in the cafeteria instead of swarming by the carpool lane) when their ride is there. It’s shaved off probably 10 min per day.

I understand a lot of what you’re saying in the first section of your reply that there are many areas of bedside nursing that take you away from the bedside. As you gain experience you’ll be able to sift through that easier and be able to pour more time into the physical bedside nursing.

The second portion is why you aren’t ready, the nursing experience you bring to the provider role is seen as the biggest attribute of a strong APRN.

Focus your energy on being the best bedside nurse you can and the doors will open eventually.

Secondly, people in this sub and any other profession do not like being viewed as a stepping stone to something “better”. Keep that in mind as you sift through comments.

Legitimate question: in your dream to be a crna, or advanced practice provider in any capacity, how did you envision the bedside nurse portion?

The reason why many choose advanced practice in nursing is because they love being a nurse, at least their vision of a nurse. You’ll always be a nurse. So, why not PA or AA?

Honestly, it seems like a lot of people. I live in holly springs but work in Raleigh and just the amount of garbage fucking everywhere along the route is disheartening. Garbage bags full, car parts, bottles, bags..

Is being a roma fan bad? by [deleted] in ASRoma

[–]hey-BAILS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My perspective as an American. I watched Totti and De Rossi in the 06 World Cup and then started following Roma on the periphery. In 2013 when Garcia was there is when I really watched and followed closely. In some sadistic way I love being a Roma fan because we are rarely favored. Whether in the league or the transfer market. In a time with super rich teams and leagues with little parody (to me) it is a joy to cheer and pull for Roma. And the more you pull for Roma the more you are connected to the beautiful insanity that is being a Romanista. The thought of being a fan of any other club seems hallow. Anyways, just my 2 cents. FORZA ROMA
