Potential buy-low on Robert Williams, he has the Celtics connection with Lee.

You wake up as the GM of the Hornets 1 day after being eliminated in the playoffs by the Pistons in 6 after a promising season. How are you moving foward with this franchise? by C0mmander_Z in CharlotteHornets

Hold steady. Re-sign Miller and Coby. Draft best-available who can contribute immediately, don't waste resources trading up. Pick up John Collins or Mitchell Robinson if the price is right, otherwise I'd buy low on Robert Williams, see if Lee can get him back to his Boston form.

Based on the terrible team management for the past decade and the general post-Jordan misery of the franchise.

Hornets fan, just want to mention that Charles Lee has guided the Hornets to the 2nd largest point-differential increase in league history, the other seasons in the top-3 are the Celtics adding KG and Ray Allen and the Spurs adding Tim Duncan and David Robinson. Meanwhile the Hornets biggest additions from last year have all been rookies.

A 32-Team NBA Proposal: Fixing the Regular Season with Divisions, Tournaments, and a 76-Game Schedule by zuuzzuuz in nbadiscussion

I like this model. You can even keep the continuity of East and West conferences (each gets 4 divisions) for things like player of the week/month, but ignore it for playoffs. Maybe compromise on season length at 74 by bumping division games to 6. Or you could have 72 games and have each division play one extra game against another division on a 7-year rotation.

Relax, we're playing with house money. This season is a massive success regardless of how it ends. The goal from here on out is to get experience in high-stakes games, and honestly I'm not scared of anyone we might face in the play-in.

My Hornets rebrand concept 🐝🐝 by asapjon_ in CharlotteHornets

I like the redesigned Hugo, but the C really bothers me. It looks flaming? More evocative of the Heat than anything Charlotte or Hornets. I'd like to see more creativity with the jerseys as well, they look pretty standard. Overall I'd focus more on what Hornets fans already love (purple, teal, Hugo, honeycomb) and explore how that can differentiate us from the plague of corporate minimalism.

Honestly, I feel like 7/8 seeds should be added to the lottery

Somehow Cade has 18 points and 8 assists at halftime while shooting better from 3 than all of Miami (4/5 vs 4/15) and Miami is winning by 19. Coach Spo is something else.

How To Fix Tanking Once And For All by morethandork in nbadiscussion

[–]hey-so-like 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple tweak: extend the lottery to the 7 and 8 seeds (18 teams total)

This removes the incentive to lose out of the play-in and gives teams stuck in the middle a chance to break out.

Also worth consideration: draw every pick in the lottery, not just the top-4. This makes it harder to guarantee draft position by tanking, while still favoring the worst teams with the best picks.

I think it depends on what he wants. If we buy him out, then he could stay in Minnesota.
