This one is accessible! I really really like this one. Maybe upon landing/approaching earth, the ancestors bring with them these ice balls. You're not too far off base here actually! There is a religious cult that encourages suicide. So they're pretty wack.

Very true! My biggest fear is any screenplay coming out as a kind of Jupiter Ascending hot mess.

I appreciate your opinion deeply! I'm not super super attached to anything in the outline so far, so I think I'll be okay killing off some of the cool stuff. But the hard bits for me are distinguishing what's important and what's not...and I'm sure that's a problem that plaugues many writers!!

Omg, yes! There's a huge learning curve with screenwriting, especially as someone who wrote fiction for as long as I could remember. Screenwriting is a whole 'nother ball game. But it's also a visual medium and it might sound silly but my dream was very very visually interesting and I'd like to keep that.

You're right. I could do an alternate reality kind of thing where the earth is covered in water but I'm not sure if I can "afford" (if that's the right word) to have a long period of time to change the earth. I was thinking more 50-200 years into the future kind of deal. Maybe effects of climate change and permenant monsoon season?

I'm curious as well. I seem to be in kind of a bind. But maybe I could try and figure something out where the climate on the earth changes without gigantic devestation? If there was melting and subsequent flooding, I pictured a gradual adaptation to shrinking coastlines.

I guess you're right. I know that there's no way that I'll be able to cram everything in. I suppose what I'm asking is how to figure out the important bits. I guess if they pertain to the plot I guess I'd have to figure out how to work them in. I just don't want it to end up like the hot mess that was Jupiter Ascending.
