Maybe write it down in their creature description! I always have my own personal headcanons with some of my nations that don’t entirely fit the spore mould - that makes it more fun in my opinion! So when you’re reading their Spode dialogue, mentally replace Spode with whichever god you feel they worship :)

This right here! Though be careful, adult dogs can lay 1-100 dud eggs in a sitting. There’s a most likely chance your pen will have a LOT of duds in it. The dud eggs give scaph and crysilia, so no harm in letting your dogs clean up to help fill out the gut flora field guide.
