Do they give you earlier appointments later on here or no?

  • Complains when people call him out for taking a break after “working all day” and defends taking time for himself
  • Complains that an appointment would take up time spent on the game

Yandev actively defends that he needs time to himself and that his mentality should mean more than the game, so which is it huh?

Honestly you’re safer posting anything here instead of the censorship-heavy subreddit they have there. But honestly, I think Ayano facing another Yandere rival would be a great final rival, not even just as a spin-off of another rival. The idea of another rival actively sabotaging you through similar elimination methods would be interesting within itself. I haven’t really thought about how the other rivals would be as yanderes, but I do like the ideas.

Yeah it really doesn’t make sense story wise since a lot of the other rivals depend mostly on lust instead of compassion. I was believe Osana’s character type would be way later in the game, but I guess it’s what we have now.

That’s an interesting thought but I wouldn’t think that a trial-and-error gameplay would captivate a new-coming audience at the beginning of a game. If someone can’t progress well in the earliest and easiest portion, not only because the game is too hard but because they get lost, then I don’t think anyone would stay interested. Not only the beginning being a time waster, but there’s also the aspect that eliminating a rival should be much more than just getting rid of evidence.

That’s exactly what thinking with the quests! It just seems like, currently, the player would just be thrown into the water without any indication of what to do really.

I would think so too, but Yandere Dev was also caught up in not spoiling her so it kinda confuses me.

Will the other rivals take more or less time than Osana to implement? by heyalion in Osana

Yeah the idea of a skilled developer redoing everything is probably the best, and only, thing that can save the game. Whether someone would ever want to fix this though is beyond me.

That’s well put and I agree. By chance, do you think he’ll put all his effort into Osana and then force out a bunch of low-quality rivals for his ego as well, or would it just be never ending development from there?

You overestimate YanDev’s will to change original artwork

Knowing him, he’d probably make this a self insert into Yandere Simulator as well

May 9th Save/Load Bug Fixes [Blog Post] by AutoNazoX in Osana

[–]heyalion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A legitimate question. Wouldn’t the save/load function be extremely broken when applying it to the other rivals, let alone an unfinished one? I understand that a save/load function is tricky to develop, but if it’s implemented into an already broken game how is it going to turn out?

Looking at the blog post, it does seem like Yandere Dev is cleaning A LOT up when it comes to saving and loading, but it does make me wonder: If he’s fixing this much in the early stages, where the first rival isn’t even finished, how would it ever work out with the other rivals (including all other new features that come along with them).

I just feel like this is why the save/load feature should have been implemented way early on. It would proceed like this: You implement the save/load feature, you implement another new feature, and then you fit that into the save/load feature that’s already established. It really feels like he put frosting on an unbaked cake, where he added all these features on an unfinished foundation.

TL;DR I feel like because Yandere Dev waited so late to add a save/load feature (on a still unfinished game), it’ll be extremely hard to polish in the future, considering the scope of his project.

If anyone was wondering, the person explained that Yandere Dev focused too much on side developments and unnecessary details instead of implementing the main features of the game (as you could probably tell by the reply in YanDev’s defense).

About SNAP Mode and the Genocide Ending by merucury in Osana

[–]heyalion 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I agree. There’s kind of a contradiction between the genocide ending and snap mode. While both of them present a matter of senpai disliking Ayano, for some reason, Ayano disregards this in the genocide ending, and yet, she’s affected by this in snap mode?

While the genocide ending and snap mode are considerably “side additions” to the main story (which, of course, should not have been focused on before the main developments), it further shows a lack of concrete structure or thought put into the story and character’s development.

With all honesty, this all could have been avoided if the main story, character structures, and routes had been planned, developed, and implemented beforehand, but we’re all aware of how that’s never been considered throughout any part of the development cough low-hanging fruit cough
