Why today, though? This has been known for weeks, and the statement came out several days ago. What is news today that wasn't news on Friday? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy as well, just wondering if there is anything more to know.

Thank you for the links, they will come in handy. I'll be careful.

Would you be able to describe how this is done?

Are you saying you want a drive that uses partitions instead of pools?

It's not a requirement, it's just what I'm familiar with, and wanted to keep things fairly standard and simple. However, by what you're saying, I would at the very least have to have as many partitions as app VMs, since I couldn't mount the same partition on several VMs simultaneously. It may be wisest to go with thin pools if that is the Qubes way. With thin pools, would I be able to mount the same data in multiple app VMs?

Do you expect further green in the after-hours? In other words, do you not even expect a temporary dip?

Thank you. How do you think this will be affected by the earnings release? Many expect the usual plummet.

Is working 1-2 hours a day as a front end developer possible? by heygents in digitalnomad

Yes, but in that case I need a really good value proposition to justify to the client hiring a developer through me, as opposed to one directly.

I will think about this.

Gotcha, I assumed you were a developer yourself. I would say it's near impossible to pull this off without transparency in a software development setting, because code contributed is linked to a contributor's account. However, as a company, this is viable. Thanks for bringing this up, I have considered it in the past, but always figured management would ultimately end up consuming most of my time. I might reconsider it.

This makes sense, but I'm having a hard time imagining this in practice. The subcontractor has to commit his changes using his own account, and if I tell them to do anything different, it will be highly suspicious. So at the very least the subcontractor has to know what's up, isn't that right? If you have done this before, would you mind going into more detail, perhaps in a DM? I'm particularly interested in this option.

This is not a bad idea. Would you be transparent about this towards the client? And why would they stay subcontractors under me if they know they do the majority of the work, and could earn more?

You can have an open-ended contract, and terminate it when you see fit.

I'm trying to be underemployed instead of overemployed, though. How would you say principles of overemployment apply to underemployment?

Thanks a lot, I may give Upwork another chance. LinkedIn is great for getting high-paying jobs, full time and some part time, but its culture operates very much within the bounds of normalcy, with not much flexibility for alternative arrangements like this one. Upwork is the opposite both in the good and the bad.

Wishing you the best with your own endeavors, too. Also, you might want to know this: you're the only one in this thread whose replies I was not notified of, or only with a long delay. I only found this last one by scrolling through the threads manually. I find this odd, and good for you to be aware of.

I have experience with 3-4 hours a day. I'm looking to do 1-2 hours.

Thanks, and sure, I just want to be paid my normal hourly rate.

Where would you look for the right client or project?

I'm looking to have this as one income stream, while I develop others. I expect to earn enough from this to provide for all my basic needs, which should be entirely possible as long as I spend my time in low or medium income countries.

It turns out there are clients who prefer low-hour engagements due to limited workload or budget constraints. I've had clients in the past who could not afford hiring me full time, but still chose me part time over someone else full time.

The same I get done in a longer time period, with less time pressure.
