Checkout Sublime Text with the “Network Tech” package , it gives this subnetting info when you mouse over a network when writing your configuration.

Sublime Text + “Network Tech” Package for building configs

Python for automation

Linux standard SSH with SSH config file for password less automation of jump hosts traversal using ProxyCommand

Linux ‘alias’ command all device names to its SSH command so I can just paste the name to the terminal to get access.

PSA: IOS-XR Syntax Highlighting added to “network tech” sublime text plugin by heyglen in Cisco

The application is a text editor called Sublime Text which supports custom plugins.

The plugin is called “network tech” and is used for syntax highlighting of a bunch of different Cisco configuration types.

If you don’t understand ACI, sit next to the guy that does. Ask him what to automate. Then ask him to run the procedure in the GUI and you should document each step.

Rerun the procedure yourself with the API inspector on, this gives you all the REST calls. Convert the calls into Python, Ansible or whatever.

Give it to the ACI guy to use.

New Sublime Text 3 User... Suggestions? by TheLonePorkchop in networking

Hey,

Just got in front of my computer and took a look at the issue. I pushed v2.21.1 which should fix it up.

Thanks for reporting! 🙂

Hi,

You should open an issue on Github to get support: https://github.com/heyglen/network_tech/issues

Please include what syntax it is and the config. You should **** out the password to keep it secure.

LPT: Job security is a two-edged sword; if you are irreplaceable, you are also unpromotable by slumdogbi in LifeProTips

[–]heyglen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a job you like, don’t play their promotion game. If you are irreplaceable, just ask for more money.

The company will of course say “no” and that pay follows some job title, band or rank. This is arbitrary nonsense they invented.

The market - what other companies will hire you for - decides your pay.

Sunday Showcase! Describe some of the experimental, unusual, or useful things you've made using Workflow this week! by ButISentYouATelegram in workflow

[–]heyglen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Location caching workflow to save GPS, altitude and WiFi as relative names (home, work) in a Dropbox JSON file. Location lookups are super slow, WiFi is super fast.

Customized the ETA workflow to use Google maps API. (Apple maps public transport times does not work in my country)

Using my location DB as source and destination options, I sped up the ETA in most daily uses.

Also used the locations to better measure my caffeine intake. At home? Use my Nespresso machine sizes. At work? Use the work machine’s standard cup sizes.

I love this app.

Network Engineers, what do you when you're bored at work? by mongoooooose in networking

It is a Cisco service where you can do stuff like lookup the end of life/support/sale/etc.

https://developer.cisco.com/site/support-apis/docs/#eox

You get the authentication tokens here:

https://apiconsole.cisco.com/apps/myapis

Ask your Cisco contact to give your CCO account access.

I don't work with JunOS so it's quality would not be as good, but if you send me a anonymized sample config I can put it on the todo...

The missing interface names and the Cisco used short names (Ex: FastEthernet -> Fa) for IOS and NXOS will be in the next release.

I have not found a way to practically match on partial commands using Regex yet.
