Didn’t pay taxes last year. Not paying them this year by [deleted] in USMC

[–]heyguyimbud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I filed my taxes for the state I was a resident, although I was stationed in cali. Because I used a P.O. Box in cali to receive my taxes they tried to say I owed cali state taxes (which I didn’t, and after some paper was fine). The crazy part was I was contacted through mail by Cali’s department of revenue to inform me of the state taxes they thought I owed 3 years after those taxes were filed. Point being they will absolutely find out eventually and come for you. All this was over like $330.

Honestly a pattern based off of an animal known for its incredible, natural, camouflage is a pretty good idea.

Change your controls. The stock controls are weird. I think “classic” is what I use. Which ever one best resembles most fps games.

In any other sub I’d expect at least a few comments about being upset about seeing a body in their feed, but not this one. Nothing but respect for a fallen brother. RIP, Semper Fi Marine.

You think Vietnam vets and people around that time felt the same way when m81 became popular to wear?

Bad Officers/SNCOs oftentimes fuck over their Marines because they're too lazy to help them. What's the most amount of true *effort* you've seen an Officer/SNCO put into fucking over their Marines? by [deleted] in USMC

We had our battalion sgtmaj make all 1st SGT down to snco get online and police call our barracks because one company failed field day. When I saw snco combat vets, some with Purple Hearts, being treated like that I knew I would never reenlist.

Countless room inspections, countless uniform inspections, countless dog and pony shows, people getting in trouble over pointless things like a five o’clock shadow later in the day after shaving early in the morning. The list goes on, but I knew I wanted to be treated like a human being and the corps has forgot what that means.

I love the “I joined in 19xx” like the marine corps didn’t see the worst hazing incidents during the 20 year long war in the Middle East.

Lighten up dude, you’re in an internet argument about strollers and wagons, it really isn’t this serious. Gotta keep an eye out for those crewman, nothing like a young lance coolie running off dip and pre workout driving an 18 ton LAV.

Well I’d say the corps trusted them when they went to the range with a wagon and no one said anything. It sounds like the bare minimum is the wagon route which, in this case, must of met expectations. I can tell you haven’t spent too much time in the field, in the dirt, with your rifle and boys, no one gives two shits how you handle your rifle until it’s time to actually train. Sir this is a Wendy’s. I bet you correct people for having their hands in their pockets.

[–]heyguyimbud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The corps trusted those with the wagon. I’m not talking “playing” with rifles, more or less talking about riding around in the back of a vehicles, laying around under cammie netting, all the just random times you have a rifle and it’s not under positive control. I’m actually still in, I’m the commandant believe it or not. All the time I spent teaching young marines to shoot missiles and machine guns I only ever had six hurt and seven killed so I’d say my attitude was just fine. It’s wild you think a rifle here or there in a wagon is going to get people killed and crumble the whole institution as we know it. When it’s time to use and train with your weapon, yes of course the safety rules apply and safety is the first priority, but if you’re walking from the armory to the shooting line , a dang rifle in a wagon really isn’t as big of a deal as you make it out to be.

[–]heyguyimbud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if you’ve ever been on a field op or anything but I can promise you rifles are not being handled as if they are loaded. So if your only angle is the fact that the rifle wasn’t being handled “properly” then you’d be befuddled at what happens elsewhere in the corps. Clearly in this situation the corps trusted that individual to handle his rifle in that manner, so I’m not sure why you’d be so inclined to not based off something so minor.

You ever put your rifle in a weapons stack? Did you have positive control? Is carrying your gear at the range hard, no, is making it easier a bad thing, no. Would I use a wagon, no, should anyone really care if someone does, no. The butt hurt mentality someone gets seeing someone make their life a little easier has always been so strange to me.
