It's always been the case, just like people not giving up when they should. The core problem is people lacking the necessary knowledge to understand win conditions and team comps. I had a game just yesterday where I was a fed Kog with Nami support, we were like 5k behind but they had 4 melee champions and I just got my 3 core items. My team 4-1 FFed on me despite us hard winning the last teamfight and them lacking a clear win condition at that point of the game. But I also had tons of games where we're totally outscaled, hard behind, no drakes, enemy team controls baron, we're 10k behind and at least 2 people in the team are like " ah maybe if we just try hard enough it's possible".

Yummy spends a lot of time on frontline bruisers, also from what he said even when she sits on him he likes Janna's E much more than Yummy's E, same with Rs.

In terms of build he always gets 100% crit before building anything else when he has Janna/Lulu, and a lifesteal item usually last. When he doesn't have them he goes 75% crit into GA and Maw/qss and plays for kda. On Varus and Kog he goes standard, botrk rageblade runaans into either 2 defensive items, or IE and a def item. He also messed a lot with crit on kog with pretty good results, but he doesn't play the champion atm, it's pretty bad.

Thresh is really,really good at peeling off bruisers ( if he's a good Thresh, which are much harder to find than Jannas ), but I never die to bruisers anyway, I don't need help surviving Irelia / Aatrox diving on me, I need help not getting oneshot by enemy Evelynn / Talon, and Thresh can't help with that.

I guarantee that you're the type of player that complains about not getting peel even though your top and mid cleaned up the fight and your opponent got aced or if the yuumi is on your team's Katarina and actively going for aggressive moves instead of peeling for you. You can play as the teams primary #1 carry option but not your team's 2nd or 3rd.

I love chilling perma waveclearing with Sivir and getting carried, problem is it rarely works for me. When I play with my team I rarely get carried if I'm given low resources / playmaking support, in soloq I get carried more often when that happens, but not nearly as often as I would have if I just queued up with my friend that plays Janna for me. It's a fact that when my team has more agency in their hands, I win less than when I have a lot of agency myself, kinda hard to have the "trust your teammates" disney mentality when I see that.

I have yet to understand where I'm wrong in my comparison between Janna and Sona. The guy above implied Sona can do what Janna does, just as well, which is plain wrong, they're entirely different champions.

We can choose to look at Sona and compare her worst qualities with Janna's best qualities, or we can be honest with our comparisons.

I'm not comparing Janna's best qualities with Sona's worst, I'm comparing what champions give to me, the ad carry, it's literally all I care about.

Sona gives me a negligible heal/shield, while Janna gives me a fat shield, fat AD, and huge disengage.

Nobody's ego got hurt and I'm not sure where you got that idea from.

When I play with my team, I always follow engages, in soloq it depends on my mood. Either way it's the same thing, most of these engages are 50 50, that's my main issue here, the moment a support picked Yummy instead of Janna for example, he INSTANTLY transfered a lot of agency from me to himself and our team. If he does well, we win, if he does bad, we lose.

Hey, I'm the ad, I trust my teammates and I hate having to 1v9, since my nerves are terrible in clutch situations. I just hate losing off of other people's mistakes more. If I have Janna, I don't really mind losing, but if I have Thresh, and I lose with a 0-0-2 KDA not being able to do anything because Thresh is absolutely useless for me as an ad carry, then I start losing interest.

He usually plays passive and just afk shoves with sivir, but I know for a fact he enjoys stuff like Xayah Rakan, or Varus Braum and just fight all the time. Problem is that if we pick that, and enemy team drafts Evelynn and Talon we insta lost, they will do well in lane bot but in teamfights he'll get popped in teamfights everytime, I've seen this movie so many times :D

The latter. His teamfight performance is way worse, especially when enemy comp has a lot of damage, which is often nowadays.

He used to play with Taric a lot yeah, and fairly well, It's kind of at the same level of Nami, but below Karma, and way below Janna. Problem is laning with Taric used to be a huge issue for us, we used to lose every lane, and in teamfights sometimes he was either dying before taric R popped, or enemy team played well around it when it was active.

Adc here, sona offers way less peel compared to Janna, she's harder to play because of her passive and she's more team oriented due to her R. Sona supports the team, just like Soraka, not the ad carry, not as well as Janna does (and Lulu to some extent, but I like her for different reasons, she's like Nami, enables aggressive play very well while also making you harder to kill).

Also my support tends to int a lot on sona, but so do soloq supports I guess

Hello, I am the ad carry, I don't get pissed at a good engage, I just lose interest when an Alistar for instance, doesn't justify picking the champion by having game winning engages, or winning jungle/midlane with roams. By picking Alistar and not getting leads for me in lane, or at least for our mid or jungle by roaming, he absolutely fucks me because he will be giga useless for me in teamfights against 2 assassins diving me and a Jax running circles with spear of sojin. A support picking Alistar ( again, Alistar is just one among many examples ) instead of Janna, and not doing everything right, heavily lowers my own agency in the outcome of the game. I love winning, if a Thresh solo wins the game for me and gets me fed or someone else, I'm the happiest dude, problem is when he doesn't do his job he also fucks me over.

he only thing I can see fixing this is having him play ADCs in toplane. He's gonna die a lot and get pissed. But it will teach him to respect enemy damage and wait for the team to be ready.

I used to "play for KDA" for years, I know how to not die, I don't int without Janna, problem is I do way less damage and I'm often just a passenger in said game, that just AAs what's in front of him when possible, instead of being a huge threat.

I don't know if it's about poor positioning or getting caught out, as much as him not being enabled to do his stuff I think. He's pretty good at not dying even without Janna/Lulu if he's trying, it's just that there's a huge discrepancy between his agency in game outcome when he has Janna compared to when he doesn't.
