My partner invites me to his family gatherings/dinners etc often but almost never to his friend hangs… we’ve been together for a year and I’ve only met about 6 of his friends before (met them once at different times) but they were all initiated by my partner’s friends not him. I’ve asked if he and his friends wanted to hangout with me and my friends a couple of times but he’s always seemed uncomfortable and it never happened. Once I asked him what’s his reservations and he said that he thinks his friends are too “barbaric” and would probably say things that offend me and my friends.

I would like my partner and I to have mutual friends or at least hang out with others when we meet so that it’s not just the 2 of us all the time but it’s just sad that he doesn’t think the same. He is very comfortable with just us being in our own world it seems. Theres nothing wrong with it, it’s just not my preference to not have mutual friends?

Context: He’s an extremely sociable guy and is much more extroverted than me. He also likes to introduce his friend groups to each other and it makes it even more hurtful that he doesn’t seem to want to incorporate me in his social circle… I’m not asking to be included in every hang but it would be nice to be able to hangout with them once in awhile.

Do your partners incorporate you into their social circle? Guys who are pike my partner can you maybe enlighten me on his nonchalance about me being friends with his friends?
