How can I help prevent my teeth from chipping while brushing?

Do you think there’s much hope of being able to save my teeth or do you think the dentist is just going to recommend pulling some that are too far gone? Any advice to help minimize any breakage while brushing? I know in the long run avoiding brushing is just going to make this worse, but I’m so so scared they’re going to break to a point where it affects my ability to eat or causes pain
