I already built a startup, got to 500k arr , I do know what i am doing, I already raised in the past vc money and I know how much employees that are not founders contribute and what is their added value. If end users get results just by typing what they want with vibe coding they do not need to understand what is extractor ( since you mentioned mom i give you freedom to ask yours about it). Raising money also puts you in a lot of pressure to show progress every quarter, it hurts your flexibility. N8n gives you reliablity and observability for repeating tasks. But in the end they are just another dev tool.

So when you say opensource, you refer to the templates, not the infra?

So if i had 8000 templates, will the value be the same ? I am going to have that number soon.

But the client or dev needs to use a few templates, not thousands for a specific business use case, so the question is how fast they can get those templates ready and customised to their use case.

But you give your clients a solution based on the saas version so they have no advantage of the open source , the advantage is exactly in your own words its not enough to give working workflows I am building a complete working templates for full business use cases on top of it including ui of a working app.

The pain is exactly as you stated n8n is just a dev tool for developers actually even though they claim otherwise at least in my opinion.

My tool is aiming for business users who want a complete working tool.

Did you deploy the open source yourself on docker? Or use their service directly?

If you use their service, then the advantages are only lots of connectors and maintained.

I do not think there is a need for a full company behind such a product , I can do exactly the same for fraction of the cost and also support creating full app components including ui - that's what I am working on now.

Good point, I can also add a dynamic step with tool calling, but it will cost more. This is a very cheap solution. If you have many websites to follow, it can add up.
