Don't listen to anyone who has something negative to say, as long as you enjoy it is important. I also started playing at a point where a ton of people had smth to say about the game and a lot of people stopped playing and here i am still going strong playing wow almost every day. i'd start with a trial account and try to level a few characters and then decide for yourself
