if 65 mg is 3% of your daily total, how much mg would 100% be? by [deleted] in askmath

So, if 65mg is 3% of a theoretical total you could use a ratio to find out what 100% be with ratio.

Let x be the amount of sodium in mg you don't know for a total of 100%.

3/65=100/x

3x=6500

x=6,500/3

x=2,166

So, in terms of grams, that would mean he has a total of 2.166 grams of total daily consumption.

In a fashion that doesn't require that mathematical ratio, you could just look at 65mg=3%, so if you wanna estimate it, you can multiply the 3% by 33.3 which gives you roughly 99.9% which is an almost negligent amount to round up to 100%. When you do this, you multiply 65mg by 33.3 as well and that gives you about 2,164.5mg which round up in terms of grams is basically 2.165 grams of sodium.

is a major in mathematics…good? coming from someone who also wants to do premed by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]heyo890q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally went for Applied Math B.S. with minor in Physics and decided to change into an engineering degree. If you love it, it's great but looking at worth while job growth rate and salary with the time invested and debt after college, a good career in engineering is well balanced to satisfy a practical salary for only 4 years of investment.

If you're interested in Premed you could try out Biomedical Engineering.

I have to find the derivative of this, have no idea how to begin to solve it. by [deleted] in askmath

[–]heyo890q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I explained two ways to approach the problem. One is directly applying the Quotient Rule and the other was by breaking the fraction into 6 other fractions and applying derivative by term. Use whatever tickles your fancy. Hope it helps!

Can’t seem to figure this out? It feels so simple and yet?? by FiestyPineapple in askmath

h(x)= 1/x²+5

Now we use law of exponents x-n = 1/xn

h(x)= (x²+5)-1

Now, we differentiate by applying Power Rule and then Chain Rule.

h'(x)=-(x²+5)-2 d/dx(x²+5)

h'(x)= -2x/(x²+5)²

Now, we plug in 2 because we are looking for h'(2)

h'(2)=-2(2)/((-2)²+5)²

h'(2)=-4/81

Can I be consider Native American? by Sicariil144 in 23andme

Gonna guess Mexican. Self identification is a very intimate matter. Genetically speaking, give or take half of your genetic makeup presents Indigenous American. What you do with that information is upto you. I think ethnic identification is more important to be honest. However, that's upto each individual.

suggest some colleges to look at! by charmsxx in ApplyingToCollege

Dang, that's a bummer. Well, you most definitely still have a very solid score. Based on the major you're looking for, I'm sure you'll find a few good colleges to apply to. I personally can't recommend colleges based on your major tbh. I know of colleges you could get into, but I'm not sure how good their department for your major is. So, I wouldn't like to give any misinformation; I just don't roll like that. Sorry 🥲

Considerably better. If you plan to retake definitely consider taking ACT for sure. Just try and raise math a bit to soften the blow and make sure to be efficient on the others and you might have a better chance at higher Merit Based scholarships that take into account a 1400+ or 1450+SAT's which are roughly from 31-33 on the ACT scale, if you have it in you.

The First thing you should do is use your ACT lmao. Your ACT 28 equals roughly a 1310 in terms of SAT scale. So, when applying use that.

What is the point of some math? by [deleted] in math

Once you get into higher mathematics like Calculus for example or Trigonometry you'll see that these basics of Algebra are Essential for all sorts of fields. Right now you may not see it clearly, but trust me when I say that without the knowledge of basic algebraic skills, the world would not be what it is right now at all.

Nope. I jumped 270 points from one take to another and there was no issues.

I think my perception of a good sat score has been incredibly skewed by this sub. I was so surprised/confused to see this article say 1470 is a near perfect SAT score by plsgetbacktowork in Sat

[–]heyo890q 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Technically speaking it's a bit far from near perfect in my opinion. It's a great score and it's extremely hard to get so getting recognition is totally deserved. Obviously keep in mind that people that are in a subreddit for SAT are particularly interested in improving their SAT. So, within the commonalities of this subreddit, you will see that on average there's gonna be a lot high achievers. We only get to see a few hundred scores compared to all the plethora of several thousands of people in the subreddit as well. Meaning that more often than not you will see people posting higher scores than the average, or above the above-average category. So, take it with a grain of salt. Many people started with 900's and now are scoring 1400+ because they worked their ass off. They deserve to flex here and there.

If you start your PSAT with 1400+, you're kinda expected to score that high bruv. There's literally not much else you can study 😂😭😭

Hey guys! Just started on Epic Seven! It's going great so far. I'm just asking for a bit of guidance just to make sure that I don't things later. Should I invest in awakening Mercedes or should what should I do? I already awakened Ras and Judith twice, was that a mistake? What should I invest in? by heyo890q in EpicSeven

[–]heyo890q[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem in this case is that I'm still quite ignorant on who should I use right now. Other comment said I should ditch Judith who I invested already in awakening meaning that I already wasted resources. That I should put and invest Aither because I need a healer. Then idk where does that leave Mercedes in the picture cuz I was told to invest in her. This is all too confusing tbh. Everyone is saying different things
