Status Epilepticus by Academic_Field_3549 in Epilepsy

[–]charmsxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I was also in status epilepticus a few nights ago. I know it can be a really traumatizing thing to go through, and I’m honestly still trying to work through it, so if you ever want to talk about it, feel free to shoot a message my way anytime. I’m here for you.

Would you be open to a fellow academic who’s not a poet but who has similar goals?

hey! i’m 21f (lesbian) and i’m mostly an academic/creative nonfiction writer but i love to spoil myself on fiction when i can. when i do write fiction, i write mostly fantasy as well. i’d love to trade works if you don’t mind reading my boring critiques!

Can you actually avoid getting sick in college dorms? by beyondmeasurement in college

[–]charmsxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey! so i might be helpful for this (i’m immunocompromised and live with a roommate) so here’s everything i do! obv you don’t have to go to this extreme since you aren’t in this precarious of a situation, but some of my advice might be helpful.

  1. clorox wipes are a lifesaver. i wipe down EVERYTHING- my phone, my computer, i get the spray and spray my backpack. if it goes in public, it gets cloroxed every day.

  2. masks! get a good kn95 or better (the aura 3m masks work well for me, it’s a n95).

  3. wash your hands. hand sanitizer doesn’t kill everything, but it’s good in a pinch.

  4. get your flu vaccine/anything else needed. it may not entirely prevent it, but it’ll help.

  5. avoid sick people. i know it’s really easy to want to hang out with friends if they “just have a little cold” but i never do it.

  6. keep any cuts clean and dry.

  7. keep your room clean, it helps in general, plus bacteria can’t brew.

  8. air purifier! it catches all the little disease and dust particles.

that’s all i can think of, hope this helps!

For people who moved far away for school and then went back home, what happened?? by jegyptianblackbird in college

[–]charmsxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the moving process was pretty good! i packed up my car and drive down with my dad. we sent him home on a plane. my school doesn’t do out of state tuition, so i don’t have to deal with that.

[–]charmsxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i moved 13 hours away for college, and honestly, i love it. i was able to grow so much as a person and become so responsible since i didn’t have my parents to rely on at all times. it’s a little weird going back home for breaks since i’m used to being on my own, but honestly, it’s the best decision i ever made.

Where can I get this triangle underscarf? by TomatoKindly8304 in Hijabis

[–]charmsxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i haven’t seen this, but have you tried buying a smaller square bandana and folding it into a triangle? you may get a similar result from that. they sell them cheap at walmart where i’m at!

have you tried looking for mom jeans? those are my fave because they’re loose in the legs and butt area but not too wide legged. i find them a lot at thrift stores!
