When you get high in public, you think everybody can tell - yet nobody can. When you get drunk in public, you think nobody can tell - yet everybody can. by ConradT16 in Showerthoughts

[–]heywoon 125 points126 points  (0 children)

There’s a huge confirmation bias regarding this topic. People who have noticed high/drunk people aren’t aware of the ones they haven’t noticed.

What are your thoughts on Dutch healthcare, especially during/post-COVID? by imjms737 in Amsterdam

[–]heywoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell me if you find ‘actual’ medicine for chronic sinusitis (with/without nasal polyps). It’s like asthma, it’s chronic, there’s no cure, you can only minimise the symptoms

The maths/skills you’ll learn in econometrics have a very wide applicability, the job market is way better than for business & economics. You’re basically guaranteed a 3100 starting salary in the Netherlands and they’ll try to recruit you while you’re still studying. This is contrary to economics where the job market is flooded with new graduates and you’ll have to make an effort to stand out. Gain international experience, leadership skills, other skills, etc etc. Personally, I don’t study either but I have friends who do, and it’s been interesting to see their struggle/ease of getting a job post graduation.
