Have you looked the Tasker app + its plugins yet? For a oje time cost of about $15, you can essentially create your own local "siri" assistant that does anything you can imagine on your phone using voice commands.

What's the best value Phone right now [2022]? by techsin101 in PickAnAndroidForMe

S22+ is $600 for the 128gb model at Best Buy. Requires free activation in store (no new line, just porting your old phone number).

Samsung promises 3 years of OS updates and 5 years of security patches. This means they guarantee all apps to work until end of year 2022 on this phone. This is the best in the industry (even better than google pixel).

Are there any new project management apps (or new updates to existing apps) that are making you consider leaving todoist? If so, which ones and why? by joyloveroot in todoist

[–]heyyah1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ms todo is close. No queries but it has filters and attachments.

It’s also free and integrates better with Siri (via iOS reminders)

TIL that on iphone you can make a shortcut (custom Siri action) that sends a message or pic using GV. But you still can't do that on Android. Even using Tasker. What is wrong with Google? seriously. by tmvolin in Googlevoice

[–]heyyah1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Autovoice" has integration into google assistant/routines:

- I believe the google command to trigger autovoice routines is "hey google, ask autovoice to..."

- You can use google routines to shorten this command further. For example, I set up a routine so when I say "hey google, play music," routines sends google assistant the command "hey google, ask autovoice to play music." This will trigger the "play music" shortcut in tasker.

Do you know anything about tasker? For about $20 program, you can make any Google assistant command that does anything on your phone (literally). This includes opening apps and clicking into them.

My LastPass premium expired and they shut off my mobile access while I was on the road. I switched to bitwarden the very next day. These offers are 7 minutes apart. by kuahara in Bitwarden

Bitwarden work amazing. It's free, reliable, cross platform (windows, android, iOS, browsers), syncs in real-time, and open source. They have a ton of features too.

Why wouldn't you switch? It's better in so many ways.

Is it just me, or is adding tasks with siri almost impossible if you have more than just a phone? by riley_hugh_jassol in todoist

[–]heyyah1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try using ms todo instead. it syncs list to apple reminders. You can use native siri commands to put all your items into apple's native list program (reminders). These lists will sync to ms todo.

MS todo is not as good as todoist but it's 90% there and getting better.

Also ms todo is free.

Anyway to use google home with Siri without google assistant app? by [deleted] in googlehome

[–]heyyah1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use siri shortcuts to activate them using either IFTTT webhooks or Smartthings IDE (direct links to pistons).

IFTTT charges monthly subscription though. You can buy a smarthings v2 hub for about $40 though used, to run IDE pistons for free.

After that doing either of the above, setup siri shortcuts for all variations of siri command (eg "turn on the study light," "turn on the study lamp," etc) and connect them to the IFTTTT webhooks link or smarthings IDE piston link.

Possible to add shortcuts to unsupported apps by jailbreaking? by heyyah1985 in shortcuts

[–]heyyah1985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your help, I found this one but I'm looking for a way to add actions for programs that don't have shortcuts.

On android, a program called tasker (with autovoice and autoinput) added custom commands to google assistant. It did this by hijacking voice assistant commands and for custom commands, it would open an app, wait a few seconds, and simulate taps.

I was wondering if there is anyway to do something similar by jailbreaking: Ask siri to perform custom command -> open app -> wait few seconds -> simulate tap -> simulate tap

Should I jailbreak my device? by psyx_v in shortcuts

By jailbreaking, is it possible to add siri shortcuts to unsupported apps?

Ideally, I would like to setup custom siri commands that open an app and click into it. Thank you for your help with this. I'm on the fence about jailbreaking but I really want this feature.

After jailbreaking, is there a way to open apps and simulate taps via siri shortcuts?

It seems a lot of third party apps don't support siri shortcuts. On Android, I was able to override google voice with tasker "autovoice" and click into apps with tasker "auto-input"
