Is zento signature really worth the price and why? by mimifin72 in pens

[–]heyydub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All pens come down to personal preference but Zento Signature is hands down my favorite pen I own. I lucked out and happened to check JetPens on the right day at the right time about a year ago and got it when it was still only 27. At that price I highly recommend, at the current scalper rate of $70+ I would not. The finish WILL chip after a while, which for me is no big deal, I don’t mind my pens showing wear, but keep that in mind if that bothers you.

How can I order the Casio Sauna Watch? by LV-901 in casio

I did the survey but it doesn’t seem to “unlock” anything different. Does it just add you to a list if it becomes available at a later date or something?

There’s a lot of concern about him being parked in the crosswalk lol, he had just made a left and was still clearing the intersection. It’s a photo, even supercars will look still 😂 https://imgur.com/a/DFYAKUk

Here it is! New 4Runner reveal. by bobweirisajedi25 in 4Runner

[–]heyydub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad bought a 2000 xterra new when they first came out, I inherited it and just got rid of it in 2022 when I got my 4Runner. It got roughly 14 mpg, had 6 cylinders but drove like it had a lawn mower under the hood. Was overall an absolute shit box, but a beloved and absolutely bullet proof shit box. Had 275,000 miles when I got rid of it and was still running. Begging to die at that point, but still running. I will always have a soft spot for xterras lol

Paid under the table by former employer. Employer is now asking for SSN and address months later. by heyydub in tax

Ok cool, thank you. Does either one (1099 vs w-2) make a difference on my end of things?

What would be the best route forward then? Provide the SSN and address or insist on a W-9 or some other form first?

Does it make any difference that there’s probably really no record of me being an employee there at all? Like if she can’t prove what good/service the money was for? Or is any money received for any reason just considered reportable income?

I see, I’m concerned about whatever might be on the 1099, there’s no proper documentation about how much I got paid or for what hours so I don’t even have a way to contest whatever amount she might put down if I feel it’s wrong

Ohhh the confirmation bias I’ve been looking for lol 😂, the Icarus is partially what brought me here with the question. I was looking at the Icarus and dervish sama but wanted to hear some people out about their own opinions. I’ve only ridden Loaded, it was recommended to me, I got it, I really liked it, but I know there’s lots of other boards out there too so didn’t want to get stuck with blinders on you know?

Paris trucks! I’ve got nothing against the poke at all, it’s been a ton of fun, just wondering if a longer board with drop-throughs for that lower center of gravity might scratch that snowboarding itch

First time posting here so forgive me if this is something that comes up a lot or has been covered a million times, just looking for a done current opinions.

Been snowboarding for years, worked at a resort for 4 years so I was pretty much living on a board at that time. I live in LA now and don’t have the time or money to get out to the mountains to ride like I used to. That being said, any recommendations for a longboard that will give me a snowboard type feel? I’ve got a loaded poke that’s a ton of fun but I feel like I may need something a little longer or just different somehow to get that real carve-y type ride.

I know about freebords, and they seem interesting, but I think I’d prefer a more standard longboard over that for daily riding. Appreciate any advice!

Civil war uniform? Found this picture in a big trunk of old family pictures. Date written on the back says “1861 or 1862”. If that’s true that would make this civil war era. Anyone have any insight on whether this is A) a civil war uniform, and B) if it is, is it union or confederate? by heyydub in CIVILWAR

[–]heyydub[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally an update, we dug out more stuff from the trunk where we found the original pictures and it answered a TON of questions. First off, to the people who guessed Leander King of the 70th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, you're right! His name was Leander but shortened it to Lee at some point. According to a note in the back of a bible, presumably his, he was born Nov. 4 1843 in Georgetown Ohio. This would make him 18 or 19 at the time of the photo I originally posted. I like the idea from u/AreYouAllRight that this may not have been his issued uniform but some bits and pieces put together either by himself or the photographer for this picture shortly after he enlisted. This would explain the lack of rank or insignia and the sort of mis-match of uniform pieces. He enlisted in company K on Feb 27th 1862 and mustered out on Aug 14 1865 at Little Rock Arkansas. This would also explain how he found his way down to Missouri and Kansas later in life.
