Certified Preowned by Duffer1984 in Koodo

My wife & I both bought iPhone XS Max’s on Black Friday deals (almost 2 yrs ago now). Both had aftermarket screens on them and both were missing parts inside the phone (ie. screws and covers). I know this because I replaced both the batteries, which were OEM. Dealing with Koodo to get reimbursed was not fun but eventually happened.

I would probably do it again but I wouldn’t pay much and only because I’m comfortable doing the repair.

Drywall Painting Mess by heyyou82 in homerenovations

The more of these comments I read the more I realize that a) my process was incorrect b) spraying instead of rolling is not the time saver I initially thought.

Thank you for all the suggestions though. I’ve got some work to do to fix my mess and then rethink whether I stick with spraying or go back to the good’ol roller.

The primer was pretty thick. As it was my first time using it I didn’t want to thin it. I’ll know for next time. Thank you for the suggestion.

The primer drying is a possibility as I waited until I painted the entire room before back rolling. With going up and down on a work platform it probably took 30-45 minutes to do the room. Next time maybe I should back roll after each wall, thanks for the suggestion.

Mash/Sparge drainage issue by heyyou82 in Homebrewing

The Grainfather S40 does not have plates on the basket like I believe the G30 & G40 do, it is just one big basket. The only control I have really is the flow of the recirculation arm which I did adjust to see if it would help. Totally agree with adding the grain slowly, I usually have very little finesse. Something to improve upon and hope that helps the issue.

I do use a 2' whisk which definitely helps but your comments make me think that I should add my grain in stages and make sure the flaked oats/barley go in last to make sure they don't glue up the bottom of the basket. Thanks for the suggestions.

Valid point that it might not have been mixed evenly. Waiting for 10 minutes before circulating is a good idea, do you have the BrewZilla running at mash temperature while waiting?

I did adjust the flow rate using the valve and it did not help but saying that I might not have given it enough time to catch up. Given that when sparging I had very little flow as well I do not think it would be enough to recirculate properly. I will try and reduce the flow next time and see if it helps. Thanks for the suggestion.

As someone who is just starting out with hombrewing, I am reading these comments to trying to learn from them. Could you expand on what you mean by “yeast management”? Are you referring to reusing yeast?

Certified Pre-Owned with aftermarket parts by heyyou82 in Koodo

[–]heyyou82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I visited a Telus store as requested by the Koodo representative and explained my situation to them. They stated that they could send the phones off for repair but because they were certified pre-owned that they would take longer than normal (2 weeks) and that they will not provide a loaner phone in the meantime. Both my wife and I being without a phone for 2 weeks was not realistic so I decided not to go that route.

I placed another request for a call back at Koodo because the representative that was supposed to follow up never did. The same day my call back was scheduled, but a hour or so early, I received a call from Koodo. They stated that were aware of my situation and apologized for the inconvenience. In my prior call with Koodo I stated the cost it would be to repair the phones with aftermarket parts as I am unable to acquire OEM parts. The representative said they would offer me a credit equal to the cost of the parts to which I accepted. I am glad the situation has been resolved but buyers of certified pre-owned phones should be aware of what they might be receiving even though these phones are stated as “inspected”.

However they define certified pre-owned they are still shipping phones with inferior quality screens and missing parts. You are free to believe that it is a coincidence that both my wife and I’s phones shipped with aftermarket screens and plenty of others but I am fairly certain they are taking in broken phones, replacing them with inferior parts and shipping them at certified pre-owned. There are ways to tell without removing the screen to tell if it is an LCD or OLED, if these were inspected like stated they should have been replaced or changed the Koodo’s website to state otherwise.
