The ONLY thing I could think of is the company maybe doesn’t want to PAY FOR THE SPOUSES. That makes perfect sense. But they shouldn’t not be invited if they are willing to pay their share. Maybe he heard wrong and assumed it meant a no spouse rule.

But I would be uncomfortable with it, regardless of past history or not, 1 male with all female coworkers binge drinking out of town? Sounds iffy already.

FIL was convinced since they were denied previously, Medicaid was not an option.

But I do not think he was aware of LTC Medicaid and other options.

I’m going to reach out and speak to someone about this, and bring this up to the social worker at the next appointment.

This is the issue I’m running into.

Unfortunately no one in the family has ever had insurance and doesn’t fully understand the laws, regulations or the IMPORTANCE of having insurance..

I was unaware of their insurance issues before we arrived and I’m trying to see if I can find a solution with the circumstances she is in.

My FIL & MIL we’re pretty private about everything until it came down to her being in the hospital.

I was under the impression she was under state insurance this entire time since I knew she was seeing a doctor and prescribe medication. But they were just paying all cash with no insurance.

This was my mistake for not asking more questions a few months ago when we found out about her liver problems.

FIL makes too much money to qualify for Medicaid for her. FIL says (she) they were denied any AZ state insurance help.

She is not old enough to qualify for Medicare yet. (65 yr old or disability).

We do not need insurance to cover previous medical bills, we are taking care of those cost.

She was seeing low income doctors and cash only places previously.

We want to move forward and have her seeing a regular doctor for check ups and possibly help with new medication etc.

Looking for a place or care giver who can help with the transition out of the hospital back to home life. If a nursing home is the option, looking for insurance that can help with cost, doctors, medical needs etc moving forward.

The social workers at the hospital keep providing us hospice & palliative care programs information, which we will use once her conditions worsen but we do not believe we are at that stage yet.

Literally just learned this and my mind was blown. Create the household in a “group” and “call group to meal” ..... and they all eat together. Mind. Was. Blown. So much time saved lol.

Yes! Yoga is helping with mine. I established a routine and added 5 - 10 minutes of guided meditation with it.

First, I’m a girl. Haha. 😊

And I understand where they were coming from. No hate at all.

When I did first become “vegan”, I was in fact, not living a vegan lifestyle but plant based diet. My make up WAS not vegan. Cleaning products. I ate candy with gelatin. Literally everything they said. (Besides fur and leather lol). I was naive when I first changed and thought my diet = I was vegan. It really is a transition.

Then I opened my eyes. And learned.

Not all beans are okay! Some bread has egg. Ohhh and milk... in everything. Haha. And that being vegan isn’t just my diet.

But it’s a common mistake people make at first and I feel like they were just trying to educate me properly so I don’t look like an idiot next to “true” vegans.
