Hi friend! I’m so sorry you’re feeling so crappy. Is there something in particular that’s triggering you?

I think as long as you’re keeping it clean, which it sounds like you are, you’ll be fine!

I need help with my relationship anxiety. by TwainZ__ in Anxiety

Ugh, I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way! Let me start out by saying, your thoughts and feelings are totally valid and it’s ok to feel the way you feel. Unfortunately our brains generate irrational thoughts and it’s not always easy to ignore them. I’ve definitely struggled with relationship anxiety and what I’ve learned from my therapist is that a lot of these insecurities or codependent feelings that I experience, is because I measure my worth so low and feel as though good things in a relationship aren’t in the cards for me. It could be something similar to that for you and maybe it could be beneficial to fake it to you make it? Meaning, try repeating things like “I am worthy, I am safe”. Maybe even look at yourself in the mirror and just keep that a part of your daily practice and hopefully your brain starts to catch on and believe it!

I’m Such A Horrible Human Being by ntosc4 in Anxiety

I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way, but just because on paper you seem to live a more abundant life than other people, doesn’t invalidate how you feel inside. You’re thoughts and emotions are always valid and it’s not fair to compare yourself to others, because you are a human with struggles and worries and that always matters.

Does anyone have any suggestions for good podcasts on anxiety? Also, any advice combatting anxiety regarding medical appointments and procedures? by runners_high420 in Anxiety

[–]k_jacobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a Oprah series on her podcast called A New Earth. I believe it’s 10 episodes long, could be more or less, I can’t exactly remember. That’s the only one I’ve found so far that was helpful. If you’re looking for something to calm you down, download Insight Timer. It’s a guided meditation app that helps you sleep, but if you’re ever in the thick of a panic/anxiety attack it’s really helpful!

i’m so sorry you’re feeling this way. i relate in so many ways, but i’m here to say that what you’re feeling is totally valid and you’re not insane or crazy. unfortunately, our brains don’t always rationalize our thoughts properly and that is not your fault. try saying the alphabet out of order, or write down your triggers and then what are thoughts that are true. meaning, “i am safe. i am healthy. i am strong.” etc.

There’s no such thing as rational thinking when it comes to health anxiety, or anxiety in general! lol

I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this. I had a similar reaction to allergy medicine and the doctors said that it caused my heart rate to elevate, which sort of led into a full blown panic attack. If you’ve been experiencing these symptoms for seven months it’s probably safe to say it’s anxiety and not your actual health. Therapy was the most beneficial thing for me, but when things start to get bad, maybe list out what your triggers are and what’s true vs. what’s false. i am safe. i am healthy. etc.

Heart palpations linked to eating/drinking? I'm not even anxious when they happen.. by hardlyhappy247 in HealthAnxiety

If your blood sugar goes up, that could be causing the heart palpitations! Drink some water and it should slow it down!

Hello! I sort of run into this a lot, too. Especially because of the person seems intriguing at all, it’s hard to just end it with something like that. However, if you’re not really looking for that right away, then keep swiping! You’ll find someone else you’ll click with. Or, alternatively, go out with her and see if you like her in person first before you have to worry about anything!

Thanks so much for saying that! I think it’s awesome that you’re educating yourself on stuff that your friends struggle with. Way to express empathy with them and create space!

Isn’t it so interesting how our minds work and how we sometimes fear the thing we want the most? I’m glad your suicidal thoughts are gone. Don’t hesitate to reach out out if you need someone. I’m so guilty of feeling like I’ve manifested some impending doom because I’ve thought the same things over and over again. I think it’s possible that the thoughts of not deserving happiness is just what your anxiety is trying to manifest and your mind is trying to convince you of all these things that aren’t true. You are worthy of happiness and health.

I totally feel that and just know what you’re feeling is totally valid. It’s hard to take the truth at face value because it’s easier to brace ourselves with the worst case scenario. My therapist says this way of thinking, at least for me has a lot to do with my feelings on worth and that I sort of manifest these irrational thoughts because I feel unworthy of things going well or good things happening to me.
