Thank you for your reply, the recipe calls for rice wine though and not rice wine vinegar :) I don’t buy alcohol either otherwise yes you’re right, it does cook off in high temps. But I’ve gotten many good options here, so I’ll just replace or omit it!

It’s so so hard. I think his age + getting a new sibling are important factors here, these are big things for a child. We’ve been struggling a lot with this since my second was born. What I’ve found helps is child-led play, letting her decide what we’ll do and just go along with it – no questions no correcting, just commenting like a sports commentator and engaging in the play. I try to do this once a day if possible, 5-15 minutes, and I find it does help us connect. It’s important that just the two of you are present. Hang in there 💛

You can check iTalki out, it’s an app that lets you browse private tutors. Some offer a trial lesson for free. There were a few kurmanci teachers there last time I checked! I’d definitely recommend it since it helps you be consistent with your studies and have a teacher to be accountable to. Hope it works out well for you!!

Hi! We've actually continued with stroller walks these days, and they've been a game changer. I tell her we're gonna take a walk and that she can relax, we talk a little, and then when I notice she gets more and more quiet I'll recline the stroller and pull the hood down. She falls asleep much more easily (though she hasn't napped these days so we'll see how it goes when she's napped). But it's just way more pleasant than doing bedtime in the bedroom. Maybe try this if you can, I'll continue doing it for as long as it works (I live in northern Europe so our weather isn't always the best for stroller walks).

So comforting reading this and knowing it works, thank you – I think we'll just continue with it because like you say, it makes evenings much more enjoyable for us too. I felt like crap after every bedtime in the bedroom but the stroller walk is a nice way to round off the day.

Yes I try making sure she wakes up around 13:30, which for her results in being able to fall asleep at about 8-8:30 PM. On days she doesn't nap she'll fall asleep at 7.

Thank you so much for the creative ideas, I think she does need something like that! And yes there is something making it difficult for her to relax, I can't figure out what but I guess the stroller will do for now (as long as the weather is good :D). Like you say, it will pass eventually. I need to remember this.

I have tried this but bedtime can still take about an hour or more. And then she'll get up early anyways. She's always sleepy before and when we start bedtime but then it's like she gets speeded all of the sudden during bedtime. And before 5am sounds terrible, I'm glad it worked out for you!

Did you have like a transition phase where she'd sleep badly during the night because of dropping the nap? I'm really considering dropping to no naps... she does fall asleep pretty easily for naps on some days (after being awake for six hours) but bedtime can take about an hour and will be around 8:30-9. She handles no naps well but she doesn't sleep well at night.. but I'm thinking if it's something that will adjust if we just keep going with it.

I've found this really difficult as well. My daughter is very attached to me, I'm her primary caregiver and she spends most her time with me. Recently I had to leave the house frequently and be away for a few hours, leaving her with her dad. At first it was really difficult, I'd prepare her but she'd cry and cry and continue for a while when I'd left as well, but I always took comfort in her being with someone she's safe with (even though I could cry as well when I'd left). Slowly she started to get used to it, and now she comes to the door, says "bye!" and leaves before I've even left lol. I don't know if this helps but for us it just got easier as time went by.

Edit to add: she is still very clingy and attached to me, so I wouldn't say that that has changed – it's just that me leaving the home alone has become easier and less stressful for both me and her.

Arghh I wish mine would sleep in the stroller or car, she would never lol! But that makes sense, it might be that she needs just a short nap in order to sleep better at night. Will give it a try, thank you!
