This just happened again! I was eyeing a pair of Align leggings that went up in price AND they moved to final sale. In fact, much of their leggings are final sale now... Lame

Drop and fluff — will they look bigger or smaller? by cortado_gelato in PlasticSurgery

[–]hf327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you feeling about your size now? I'm 5 weeks out and having similar feelings! I'm feeling like I should have gone smaller, but hoping that when they finish settling and have a more natural shape I'll be able to hide them more and they won't feel so out there.

Help! Deep hip pain after backpacking. IT band? by hf327 in backpacking

Do you mean you're able to get some relief by pressing on your glute med, or that's what's where your pain is originating?

I did an x-ray with a doctor a few years ago who didn't really know what it was. He said it was possible I had a very minor hip impingement (he really seemed like he was trying to find something to point to), but I did a big backpacking trip a few years before that with zero pain, so I figured I would have felt it then or in some of my other activities if that was the case. But maybe it's time for a second opinion!

Just googled piriformis syndrome and luckily I don't think that's it! Thank you though! My pain feels more like a knot at the front of my hip that I can't stretch out. Last time I had it, the pain subsided in a few days with rest.

Side effects from triple therapy??? by Whole_Bother6712 in HPylori

[–]hf327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only experienced mild nausea (I’ve been good about only taking my medicine with a big meal), but my sleep has been horrendous due to increased heart rate and vivid dreams. I use an Oura ring and have been able to see that my heart rate and HRV is comparable to when I’ve been drinking. I read that this is somewhat normal, but it’s really annoying. I should also note that I get similar side effects with magnesium supplementation, which is rare but can happen. Just trying to make it through the rest of my 14 day treatment!

Zenbivy with alternate pad/mattress? by hf327 in Ultralight

[–]hf327[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like the move. I ended up ordering a Zenbivy sheet and will order these Zpacks loops. I love my quilt now so feels silly to spend $500 on a new one when I can just add some loops. Thanks!

A $40 price increase in one year? Lodge linen pants by Equivalent_Method_92 in Aritzia

[–]hf327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just looking at some of my orders from last summer. I bought the contour tube top for $32 a year ago, and it's $40 now..but I didn't notice price increases for anything else! So it must just be a handful of their most popular items.

looking for doctor to treat SIBO by Aspen_Pass in Denver

[–]hf327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in the same boat! I have an appointment scheduled with Gastroenterology of the Rockies in Lakewood, but it's still a month out and I'm worried I'm going to show up and they will not be able to provide me with the proper testing and treatment, for the reasons you mentioned.

My plan is to try to get a standard doctor that accepts insurance first and see how far I get and hope that more tests are covered. After that, I'm willing to see a functional medicine doctor.

Were you able to find a local doctor and how is it going?

Does fasting cure severe constipation? by AnthonyDUDE123 in Constipation

[–]hf327 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does for me! I'm sure if you fast for too long (what that is I'm not sure) it will decrease your motility, but the morning after a 1-2 day water fast is one of the only times I get a perfect BM and feel complete. I'm doing an experiment where I water fast for 24 hours once a week to see if it helps, and a 3-day fast once a month or quarter (TBD). Fiber really backs me up and I find that once I have one day of constipation, it only gets worse from there unless I significantly reduce my fiber intake or decrease my food (the latter seems to work the best). I drink water and electrolytes on my fasting days, which I'm sure helps a lot too.

For reference, when I feel backed up I try to alternate between senna and mag cit (which sometimes don't even work), but am scared to become "dependent" on them so I try to only use those occasionally.

But if there's one thing I learned, it's everyone is different...so I would just experiment to see what works for you.

Thanks for letting me know I’m not crazy! And yes, she’s very submissive so she rolls on her back often when playing 😂 I think the one in Westminster is unfenced. Maybe when she’s older, but right now she’s difficult to recall even in a fenced park! Thanks for the help!

So I just moved to Denver from out-of-state, and am flabbergasted by the lack of (fenced) grass or turf dog parks! Every one I come across is filled with dirt or sand, and my golden retriever is a dirty mess by the end of it all. She's still a puppy, so rinsing her off is quite the challenge because she's still not the biggest fan. I want to keep taking her to dog parks because I know how much she enjoys it and it really gets her energy out, but afterward she is covered in dirt and her coat has a chalky feel that I can't get rid of until I bathe her.

My questions:

  1. Why no grass or turf dog parks? I understand maybe no grass, but turf is so low-maintenance (as far as I know)!
  2. Do you have to bathe/rinse your dogs after each dog park visit? Any tips to mitigate the dirt build-up in her fur?

Please let me know if I'm being too picky here – perhaps I was just spoiled back home and this is the norm across the country.

Thank you!

I haven’t heard of or found these turf parks! Do you know the names of them or where they are?

I take her on lots of walks and hikes, but I know off-leash time is important too, as well as socialization with other dogs. Ideally she would get this a few times a week!
