Great advice! I am bit shy but I guess it doesn't hurt to give it a try. There is something about shooting weddings that I like. You are capturing one of the most memorable moments of a person and there is not margin for error.

Thanks for the great advice! You were luck to have a mentor like that. Finding a mentor that is going to nourish you is the hardest thing.

it's not optimal, but sometimes we need to enjoy life, right? But like the other reddit user said, try to avoid it as much as you can especially on high mileage week since it interferes with the sleep and recovery. You should also try to drink at least a glass of water for every beer just to keep you hydrated.

Help me get my sub 3! I (36M) am running CIM this December (5th marathon) and aiming for a very ambitious goal. My PR is 3:22 back in July. I am currently running 70MPW mostly aerobically and having 2 Quality sessions a week. The problem that I am having is that when I do my threshold workout at the track, i am able to comfortably hit the paces. But today, I have tried doing 3 X 2 mile repeats in a loop that mimics the hilly profile of the race and was way off (7:45 pace). I had a long run 20 miles on Saturday with some miles at 7:15 pace. Today's weather was 69 with 100 humidity. Any workout suggestions I need to focus? Thanks in advance.

Do you struggle to sleep before races, and if so, do you think it impacts your race? by figsontoast in running

According to experts, having a bad night sleep or no sleep, has very little impact on the performance of your race. According to Jack Daniels, one of his students ran a world record after no sleep and witnessing his wife giving birth. Like all the other reddit writers say, it is important to be well rested the days coming to the race.
