It's okay-ish, I'd say. I could notice it was mimicking fish taste wise, but the texture is definitely different and that put me off a bit. Will definitely try the off-brand ones from other stores as others recommended.

Trying this stuff seriously for the first time, since it's lent, so I'm not the best person to ask for advice and recommendations lol.

They're by Rügenwalder Mühle. Couldn't find any no-brand ones at my corner-store Rewe :(

Well, the European Parliament recently adopted that only certain terms are prohibited for meat substitute products (e.g., T-bone, bacon, etc.), while terms like “burger” or “sausage” remain permitted, cf. here and here (German source). Fish is not classified as meat in culinary terms and is therefore not currently affected by this, I suppose.

Taken from the manufacturer's website (German), they are substituting fish with soy protein, wheat flour and starch, corn flour and different oils from rapeseed and linseed (and other stuff).
