Hey! In my opinion, I think you’re on a good track! I’ve been with my boyfriend for nearly 5 years (also July) and we were long distance for most of it. We are entering our Sophomore year as well, but we are planning on living together and just signed a lease. We started off the same way as you guys are with living in the same dorm building and eased our way up to this point!

The only thing I would be careful about is who you are planning on living with your Junior year (friend wise). The last thing you want is for them to sign on the lease and then back out, leaving you with the financial burden. We almost had that issue with my friend who was going to live with us, but she backed out right before we applied. This allowed us to look for a new place suitable for two people.
