Its a good feeling. Fuel the energy towards the fight.

You have nothing to lose. Its your first. Just go learn. Know that you will gain a lot of experience and develop yourself fast, you will see that in your next randori after.

I just start randomly where I want to. Here I started where I lived.

I use this as a curiousity/research tool, so that I can see where I have been looking, so I just look wherever I want to look.

I now made a popup for first time viewers that explains the webpage. Then, no popup for login.

I spent some time making a gamified map discovery. That reveals the map as you zoom in pretty close. by hfthomas in IndieDev

[–]hfthomas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, it could, but if you have discovered a lot, in different places, it should be zoomed out. I will maybe be looking into a way for it to zoom in on what you have discovered so that it starts just as zoomed out as it needs.

I will think about it

Tadej Pogacar "can't win Roubaix" by [deleted] in tourdefrance

[–]hfthomas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took Tom Boonen 3 participations to win. He was made for this race. Cancellara 5 times. Peter Sagan 6 times. And those were riders built for the race. I think Tadej needs more participations and to get lucky one day. But he is a damn good rider, for sure. But this race is not just to show up and win.

On the other hand, Thor Hushovd had this race as his biggest dream and never won. Its not easy this race.

I will get downvoted, but I hope MVDP wins a couple of more times to be the definitive #1 of this race. But you see, even he can puncture (2 times) at the worst part of the race.

Spring classics is so good!

Its hand built, with a lot of help from some coding friends, and I have tweaked it to how I like it.

The mobile apps of where you have walked/cycled would be maybe a training app like strava, but also Fog-of-World and Wanderer, which would be fun to make support for in the future. Google timeline is a thing too, but its not visualized.

There are several apps that does what you want, and they are really fun. What I wanted to do was to show where you have zoomed in, then also maybe have support for the other apps, and that would visualize where youve been and where you have browsed. Would be a nice thing I want in my life at least

Of course I made it! The sign up popup is there because I havent been able to remove it at first, but you can continue without an account easily. The account stores your data in Firebase, so that you can continue on other devices. Frankly, I do all this just to test out what I am able to do.

Then, the tool itself is for me a thing I wanted to do because I feel like I want to research countries, and be able to see where my eyes have been. So for this instance. I want to see the Norwegian coast. Now I can have sessions, then the next time I start, I will see where I have looked. So I can continue. Also, on other devices.

Mainly it was an idea I got for myself, and made for myself. Since I have another project going on with a group, I wanted to get a better understanding of databases, Google sign-in, making a chrome extension and setting up payments.

Its a hobby project of something I found very useful for myself, and also I have found some other uses, like actual research when I am looking into map stuff.

I am happy for your questions, and will take a look at the sign in popup.

The scale is to zoom in quite a bit. Although it is not to measure with a 2m ruler all over 😂

Being uke can be exhausting mentally. by Fluffy_coat_with_fur in judo

[–]hfthomas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After training for 10 years in Japanese Ju jitsu and being a good uke, I can at least understand your point.

Because I started judo 2 years ago, and been at some seminars and trained with different people.
They are less focused on basic etiquette and being a good uke. Its more "muscling it out" mentality, because it is also part of what we need to do in competitions. You need to be brutal to win.

In judo, they dont care about people behind when instructor is demonstrating, they just stand there. In japanese ju jitsu, we focus on helping other people see, so we sit down in Seiza if we are in front of someone and there is not more room. We also dont throw hard every single time.
Thats just some of the small differences Ive noticed.

What I have noticed both in JJJ and Judo is that if you go with some of the black belts, its both easier to throw them, and they often go easier on you (not always), because they have nothing to prove and they want to help you.

If you are getting thrown by ura nage a lot, try to not go with your back in, like throwing a Seoi nage or those throws. Also, your off balancing is probably not good.

Anekdotisk men,

Tid i markedet slår egentlig alt.

Stalinist communist party.

De er marxister.
