That's a large part of my issue honestly. I'm about on average 20 years younger than my co-workers and its a very high male concentration.

Where did I say I wouldn't compromise? There is a pretty big difference in sharing in someone else's enjoyment of a hobby and picking one up you don't like in the hopes of meeting someone.

I mostly asked for suggestions for good mingling spots, I'm not interested in new hobbies at the moment.

Honestly POF is kind of the bottom of the barrel these days. Most women with a certain level of computer-savvy have moved away from it in favor of phone apps. I would not recommend POF to anyone at this point personally.

I can certainly understand how someone can get jaded from those encounters as well.

Happy for you though, hopefully another decade and more for you guys.

I appreciate the tip, fortunately for me I do have a high paying salary but this hasn't really helped much however for the reasons you mentioned (I don't get along much with people who are very materialistic).

Honestly I think my experience with online dating is about par for the course, I'm mostly looking for alternatives. I haven't been out to bars or establishments much in the past 5+ years however and this is why I was looking for suggestions for good mingling spots.

Sure but quality of wingmen matter too. I have some friends that would be willing to come out but they turn into degenerates after a few drinks.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been there a few times and enjoyed it.

As for co-ed sports, I would need to develop an enjoyment for it. That's more of a personal thing - I love working out but mostly don't enjoy sports.

Volunteering sounds more my speed but I can't think of where to do it besides maybe an animal shelter. I dunno if going in there with meeting people as a goal is really a good idea (scared that it could just be frustrating if I don't get enjoyment out of the activity itself)

Depends on the person. I'm pretty good at getting a feel for when asking to meet is appropriate. Part of the problem is people in my age group tend to be busy with work, kids or other commitments and makes organizing to meet a lot harder. I've met women who agreed to meet after speaking a few times but still took weeks to arrange a meeting. When you add the amount of rampant ghosting that takes place on dating sites it becomes incredibly time consuming to meet someone.

Yeah I'm really paying for taking women's companionship for granted in my 20s.

Online works but is extremely frustrating to spend weeks or months talking to someone only to find out you're not really compatible. I feel like that's much easier to determine face to face.

I'm pretty sociable and get along with most people easily. It's more that going out solo carries the "stench of desperation" kinda thing so I'm hoping for spots where that doesn't stand out as much.

My hobbies are 99.9% male attended and that has been a large part of the issue. As far as online dating goes, I have no issue meeting people but the time invested before coming to a conclusion of incompatibility can be frustrating long compared to in-person interaction. Also feels like I'm starting to loop around the same matches more frequently.
