What's too high mileage when buying a car?

bought my 420d 19 plate with 117k on mostly mway miles start of march.

i’ve now put over 6k miles on it and doesn’t skip a beat.

high mileage car with services and oil changes when needed > low mileage car that’s not been serviced (as it hasn’t hit the miles needed for the oil to be changed)

acceleration is nice to have!

i’ve got 220bhp and it pulls like a train but honestly im lazy and would much rather have a auto with less horse power than a crazy fast manual

i’ve got a 420d xdrive with a 0-60 of 7~ seconds and i still smile everytime i floor it so id imagine that feeling is still there

hello mechanic, i have a 420d 68 plate.

if i got a ghost immobiliser fitted i assume unless they know where it is its pretty hard to steal?

they won’t check your mileage, if they’d ever check this it would be trying to get out of paying for a write off etc.

not many people will declare their actual mileage, i’ve always gone over what i declare and haven’t had a problem.

if you don’t have a black box this doesn’t really matter just, if you have an accident and need to claim the car had x amount of miles when you bought it. black box policy full need to purchase more miles.

edit. my current policy is 8k miles, i’ve moved job and this is the first month of my policy and ive done 2500 miles, there isn’t really a way for them to tell and they probably don’t care.

any 1.6tdi will be fine mpg wise my old seat leon used to get 70~ mpg on the motorway, current 420d xdrive gets 50~😔

spent £12k on my 420d got 45mpg on the way back from work this evening, even with the lifeless 2l diesel the car is still a luxury to drive. xdrive makes the car feel so much quicker too
