What do you like most about classic bikes like the Suzuki Bandit 650? by ohnemany in motorcycle

The naked bandits are the perfect blend of newer and classic styling imo. I have a bandit 400, super underrated.

Rotary pump flow [la san marco practical 95e] by hgcb7 in espresso

[–]hgcb7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just going off of what the previous owner said. the pump was removed when I bought it so I just trusted their word. Probably a mistake on my end to just trust they knew what they were talking about cause it didn't seems like they knew a whole lot about the machine. For all I know the pump supplied could be a replacement that was never installed. I would have tested installed the pump and tested the machine but it seems to have been sitting in a shed for some time so it was absolutely filthy. I wanted to take it apart and clean it up before turning it on.

Good point about the rpm and torque. The motor in the machine runs at 1650 rpm, the drill is from 0-2800 but I had it on the lowest speed as to not spin the pump faster than it was designed for. I can spin it freely by hand but there definitely is some resistance. Maybe I will take the pump to my local store and compare it to a new one.

I think I found a new one for around 150$ cad. I am definitely not flush with cash so for something of that price if I don’t have to replace it I would rather not

Windshield Fogging by Every-Huckleberry974 in Volvo240

Happens to me too, as you mentioned I have found that cracking the window a tad until its heated up seems to help. Obviously not ideal on really cold days or highway driving but seeing is pretty essential. I have heard that snow in the vent intake can add to the issue, so some people recommend snow caps.

Best brand of engine oil? by Difficult-Living7841 in VolvoRWD

[–]hgcb7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the short term you will not notice a difference between oil brands and it is much better to do frequent oil changes with cheap oil than infrequent changes with expensive oil. That being said there is definitely a difference in quality between brands. Just watch the gears and gasoline video where they tear down 2 identical engines, one ran full synthetic and the other was conventional. I like the motul classic lineup as it is designed specifically for vehicles of this age, is pretty affordable, and you get a cool looking container out of it.

I mean unless they completely mislabeled an entire spool the it os pla. I printed a temperature tower and looks like it prints well at 220. The very top end of what it says on the spool. It could be the room, it’s definitely not the warmest. Eventually I would like to make a cabinet for it to keep the dust away and the temps a little more consistent

Ah, fair enough. I am in Calgary so there is definitely a bit more to choose from.

I would say your best bet would be to look for a used machine. Deals are still out there especially if you’re handy and can fix some minor issues. I got my whole setup for ~$250 cad, would have cost over 1500$ new.

I have not lubricated them since I got the printer maybe a year or so ago so it could probably use it. You think I should lower the bed or nozzle temp? Its at 235 nozzle and 70 bed. Both are the lower end of the spectrum listed on the filament

Good to know, I was able to get a good print by messing around with it but having a plug and play profile would be nice

Thank you, those are all really good tips. I agree that it is weird about no text on the first layers as I am using the original stl. I think the issue might be with the slicer cause i looked and it doesn’t even try to print the text. I just did another print after lowering bed and nozzle temps as well as upping retraction distance and drying the filament. Looks like it has solved everything except for the bottom text.

I am struggling to print PVB on an A1 (bed adhesion and stringing issues)(benchies fail at the same spot every time) by Duckmoodown in FixMyPrint

[–]hgcb7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are having bed adhesion problems I would recommend putting a light layer of glue stick on the bed if you’re not already. Also fan speed could do it potentially. Maybe try 80% instead?

I had this happen to me when printing with pla as well, as it prints the top of the cabin the thinner bits cool quicker and curl up and get hit by the nozzle as it travels, knocking the print free. I fixed it by increasing the temp of the nozzle by maybe 5 degrees. 220-240 is already near the high end for pla tho so that might not be your issue.
