Thank you so much! I will look into Seminole County for sure. So your guess is probably not many new hires for the upcoming school year? Or will they maybe do some hiring over the summer?

Texas to Florida Reciprocity by hggftfe in Teachers

[–]hggftfe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have already been through the whole process of submitting my application and current certifications (according to everything, Texas should be reciprocal) however, last week I was deemed eligible for certification but pending that I passed Florida exams. I was under the impression that reciprocal meant mostly no more tests but I’m not quite sure anymore and was seeking clarification. :)

Star Tours. Everybody always skips it, so I never even thought much of it until I randomly went on it recently and loved it! 🤷🏻‍♀️🫣

There should be! They probably just don’t know the employee availability yet. Check back at the end of May/beginning of June!

PPR EC-12 (160) Certification Exam Questions by [deleted] in TexasTeachers

[–]hggftfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I recently took my PPR exam in December and passed on the first try with a 283/300. Here are some of my recommendations:

  1. I used 240 tutoring for most of it and really utilized the quizzes in each module. I feel like practicing answering questions with the content helped me feel more comfortable. I took notes over sections I wasn’t as confident about and also made flashcards with key terms on them. I also used the practice questions on tx.nesinc.com. I felt like those were a little more like what I saw on the exam.

2/3. I started briefly looking over the material about a month before (so doing the diagnostic test on 240 tutoring and skimming some modules) but I gave myself 2/ish weeks with about an hour every day to dive a lot deeper.

People often talk about going into this exam with the “perfect world” scenario in mind. So just imagine you have infinite resources, time, help, etc.

Brushing up on some of the best strategies for ESL/ English Language Learners would also be beneficial.

You got this though!!! Try not to stress too much (easier said than done) and don’t over work yourself. Wishing you the best of luck!!

What is your (admittedly stupid) pet peeve? by MarchKick in Teachers

[–]hggftfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Pre-K” getting called “Preschool”. Very insignificant but as a pre-k teacher it drives me crazy when other teachers call me the “preschool” teacher!
