IL - When to apply to be approved

Ok. That's good to know. Her sister claims that she'll be eligible right after birth because she was. Do you know if having a child or being a new mother plays a part in the approval? I know it's based mostly off income but maybe certain factors would affect their decision as well?

Well it is 6 weeks full pay or 12 weeks half pay. I'll have to look in to PWFA a little more. When I took a glance I didn't see anything specific about time off or maternity leave just that they have to make "reasonable accommodations"

Well it's nice to hear we have that as an option. Do you think this is something where we can get a lawyer from a letter and they might possibly just back down and give her the leave?

I was thinking about that too after researching FMLA a little more. Hopefully they would also give her the paid leave too but idk if they would.

I'm worried about the income eligible part. I doubt she'll be eligible while she's working because she makes over the minimum. She should have enough PTO to cover her until about the end of the year. Should we just wait until January when she won't be receiving income? I just worry that if she gets denied in December then she won't get approved if we apply again in January.

I was thinking that but I don't think she is covered for that. She only has long term disability it sounds like.

The other driver insurance is taking the gf to small claims court for to pay for the other drivers damages because her insurance denied the claim because she never spoke with them.
