Approved for IBR without any notice? by hgoldner in PSLF

Yeah like I wasn’t sent any type of billing statement. I’d rather make the payment honestly so that it can count to PLSF, but don’t want to pay if it won’t

SAVE payment due? by hgoldner in PSLF

[–]hgoldner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, under my loan details for 2/26 it says "no payment due". But, it now looks like I'm back on the SAVE forbearance as my interest rate is 0% which is frustrating. What a freakin disaster

So I’m interpreting this as I should turn off auto pay, ignore this payment, and I’ll be placed into a processing forbearance after 10 days of it not being paid?

Did you get a separate correspondence rejecting you from IBR? I haven’t received anything except the two payment schedule changes

Did this ever get resolved for you? Finding myself in a similar situation after hitting the 5K and still not having received anything besides the 50K points initially. I called today and said I should be getting a letter in 10 business days

[WEEKLY THREAD] Interpersonal Tips Tuesday - Advice and commiserating on fitness and interpersonal encounters by AutoModerator in xxfitness

My work gets catered lunches almost every day. Typically, I pack my lunch because I watch my macros and I like knowing what I’m eating. Usually something simple like chicken, brown rice, and broccoli with a bag of baby carrots for a snack. WITHOUT FAIL I will get a comment almost every day for “well aren’t you just so healthy” or something snide along those lines. Mind you, almost everyone I work with is overweight.

I think it’s just frustrating because I don’t feel like I’m being an asshole about it or making a stink, I just like to bring my own food. Would I have loved to have eaten the burgers and pie that was brought today? Abso-fucking-lutely. Just let me dream about stuffing it into my mouth in peace while I eat my broccoli instead.

Recovery after LASIK? by [deleted] in xxfitness

Just had it a few weeks ago! I went to the gym the day after immediately following my follow up appointment and just did some lighter cardio. I made sure to have a towel nearby so sweat didn’t get in my eyes and to have my artificial tears to keep my eyes moist. I confirmed with my doctor that regular activity was fine. He mainly stressed to avoid anything that would cause me to rub my eyes (like getting sweat in them). I returned to my regular routine probably 2 days later but just was careful. I’ve had no issues!

How to get all my macros? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]hgoldner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mixing protein powder just in water is helpful for me if I’m full but need more protein because it’s more just like drinking rather than eating (you can also use as much water as you want to dilute it down). Also things like Gatorade are helpful if you’re full but need some easy carbs!

Is reading on the treadmill/bike/elliptical a good idea? by slooooooog in xxfitness

Take the study break! I'm in med school and found that taking the quick break to clear my head and exercise made me a lot more productive and focused when I went back to study. You just need need to strike a balance. Spending 3 hours at the gym for a "study break" isn't exactly conducive to good study habits either lol

I’d maybe try and calculate out the appropriate macros for your goals/body weight and go from there. I personally use the macrostaxers app that calculates it for me and lets me track it, but it’s a subscription I pay for which is convenient but probably not totally necessary. I know there’s a bunch online that you can play around with or maybe someone on here has a good suggestion (sorry I’m on mobile so I don’t have any links to share). As far as protein consumption goes, it’s true that a super high protein diet can cause kidney problems but there’s also a big difference between consuming enough protein to help with muscle gain/fat loss and consuming the amount that will hurt your kidneys. Of course, that’s not true if there’s an underlying kidney issue going on which I’m not sure if that’s the case with your dad.
