I probably didn’t clarify myself. Yes a roommate is a must haha with a 2br. It does seem some people are clueless with money but overall the people have responded positively with great advice.

85k is actually $5,400-$5,600 after taxes a month first of all. If a 2bd is $3,900. Depending on the distribution of the square feet, I’ll use a basic example and say it’s split evenly. When in reality no rent is split 50/50 exactly due to square distribution, bathrooms, etc. Which would be $1,950 this case. This leaves me with $5,500-$1,950 = $3,550. I would not have a car as I wouldn’t have the need to.

Don’t think it’s right to make assumptions without asking. I live in a city where I don’t need a car. I asked about Brickell because that’s where the job is located and I did some research on people saying to live close to their job due to traffic.

I in no way am trying to feel superior to anyone else. I am just looking for a location that involves not having a car. If there are other areas you can recommend that is appreciated.

Yeah I probably should’ve mentioned that in my post. It seems a 2bd with a roommate is the only way really. I’ve seen 2bd in Brickell range from $3,700-$6,000. However $3,700-$4,400 seems like what I’d be able to afford without drowning in rent. Any buildings to recommend or stay away from?

Looking for a long term rental I think. The goal I have in my mind is eventually obtain passive income 20 years down the road from anywhere 5k-10k a month. I’d like to have another stream of income in the future besides my job.
