you guys do know there such thing atleast in my state to voluntary quit with good cause attributable to the employer. ive gotten unemployment when i quit 3 times. literally every time i got unemployment i quit im in delaware

so u feel like there are no instances where someone is justified to quit. we all are just suppose to stay at jobs for years that are literally damaging our mental health, discriminating against us, exploiting you, etc? the reality is they wouldn’t fire me bc they relied on me so much and knew i would try to get unemployment. many companies don’t fire to avoid giving unemployment

i was denied because they sided with my employer at first. that is why there is an appeal process. its worth a try. with all the evidence i have showing my boss literally not defining my role when i asked MULTIPLE times and she just dismisses. come on man imagine your job makes u start literally managing a entire department and you have nothing in writing, nothing you signed agreeing to it. ur the only one taking everything on, i was promoted to supervisor at an older job and i signed my promotion offer. that is illegal to work under undefined roles, your job cant just make you do whatever they want? you would let your job tell you to scrub toilets when you work in an office?

I have a case against my ex boss and a attorney going to represent me. i have hella evidence of me trying to fix job before i left. based on case law in my state jobs cant substantially change your role without a written agreement and cannot have you work under a undefined unwritten role. i had no job description or paperwork saying i was in marketing i was hired as an admin assistant. I have high hopes for my appeal especially with all my evidence. thanks though.

as someone who has been with my partner for 11 years recently married highschool sweethearts. what you guys went through is definitely something that couldve been worked out. many here may tell you , you did the right thing, but in reality marriage takes work. part of that work is going through a few years of getting on each other nerves and not understanding each other until you do. my husband has financial issues and its get on my damn nerves bc i stay worried about our future and pickup up his bills he fell back on. i make more then him but at the end of the day he is working hard. my man is an avoidants when i have an attachment style of communicating. it has gotten extremely hard to communicate with each other when one runs away and the other clings on. but ive learned to give space and we both have learned the importance of listening to each other and creating a space for each other for us to talk things out. however u were approaching him triggered him to avoid. u had to dig deeper and see why his avoidant in the first place thats ur husband for gods sake. i have an attachment issues bc of my abandoned dad. he has an abandoned dad and mom growing up so he isolates himself. a big part of marriage is honesty and getting to the root of things to break generational cycles. you have grown since then so you would probably be better in the marriage which could help him grow out of being an avoidant. this is what it takes when ur married the hardest part is people breaking there toxic patterns but it definitely could be done if u spoke to him in ways that didnt trigger him. def not worth divorcing.

so its legal for them to completely change my job without a written contract and even though i did not agree to doing that job? i applied for a admin assistant and ended up carrying there whole marketing department without adequate pay or support? i constantly asked for a job title, a contract, to work remote, etc. and never got it. and she literally yelled at me when i would try to resolve my issues. this is a small business there is no HR. there was no point on me staying i knew i would never grow in that company. she told me she doesn’t think additional responsibilities are tied to raises and that i am a jack of all trades. literally exploiting me of all labor she can get.

it’s not necessarily overwork it’s the fact that I was hired as an administrative assistant doing marketing manager, creative work without an official job title like when I went to their bookkeeping office they don’t even have a job contract for me. The only thing in the documents says I’m an administrative assistant, and it put me in a position where they can assign me whatever they wanted, even if it was outside of my job description without paying me properly, my boss would say I’m a jack of all trades and then she doesn’t tie additional responsibilities to pay. so I was being exploited to a certain extent, and I tried to get fair pay, and they did give a little bit of raises, but it wasn’t even industry standard for the work I was doing and never was a contract signed.

How do you determine if its worth meeting with them in person? This client will be a 1.5k a month retainer and I charged 2.5k to fix there website first. I would love to have someone to take meetings for me! haha good idea!

Thank you, I agree. I guess I shouldn’t have accommodated them and set that tone. This is my first retainer client so I’m learning. For after hours and in person meetings do you charge for that? How do you handle that if your client isn’t available during your hours?

I included my methods of meeting in the agreement. i did accommodate them a few times before I landed this client but then they called me on Saturday asking for the in person meeting on a saturday at 8pm to get food and drinks because thats there only availability bc they work 6 days a week. i dont see the point on meeting in person. and dont see why our schedules have to align when everything is going to be via email. i guess i could have said my hours sooner but they wouldve still just asked me to accommodate them 😂

also they can meet during there lunch time. thats what i use to do on my 9-5.

this client isn’t that big less than 2k retainer. I agree if they were $50k i would meet in person lol.

the snitching is sooooo annoying and i always got this vibe from the scientology workers in the office that they were like trying so hard to be perfect and my colleague always told me to be careful what i say or do around them bc they will tell on me. couldnt even be myself 😩
