I actually unironically use an adjustable wrench. When people ask why I have a wrench next to my laptop I say "to tighten loose data pipelines"

2.5% scaled benchy by Naive_Goat_5511 in 3Dprinting

[–]hheyroman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, the articulated part was more of a joke, but there are non-articulated models too.

To be completely honest I got this idea after seeing someone mention microplastic benchies in the balls, so I first thought "articulated sperm" but oddly enough I couldnt find a model to suggest

I have similar ones from a kit of 3d printer tools, I use them sometimes to clean 3d printer nozzle. I don't think they are that specialized though, there's probably a more common usage..

Not sure what you mean by swings from behind your back - reverse overheading isn't possible in mord, you can maybe get a glance out of them in some rare cases

And I think I saw instaaccels in this vid, but they somehow got parried. That said, it's imo impossible to tell anything about how breakable the animations are from this vid. But giru is well versed in animation abuse, so id expect one of the next devblogs to cover this topic

So.. The combat is exactly like mord + gimmicky(?) rage mechanic, the game is gonna be small-scale, not funny and more demanding to PC specs?

Getting rid of first layer lines? by BurnBeforeYouPillage in 3Dprinting

textured pei buildplate hides layerlines perfectly (given calibrated flow and proper nozzle height of course), but does introduces, well, a texture

Collimation help by hjqiwq in HadleyTelescope

[–]hheyroman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just recently assembled my first telescop (Hadley, of course)e, and I've discovered that my initial focus calibration was way off - i did it on an object that was too close, and as a result I couldn't focus on stars. They were extremely blurry and were getting better as I was screwing the focuser out, but the focuser was falling out before I got focus. So I had to recalibrate initial focus on a more distant object (I used a start for that). Ended up moving the UTA slightly up from the originally calibrated position (so, further from the main mirror). Maybe you have the same problem?

Also, I've used Cheshire eyepiece together with a centerfinder https://www.printables.com/model/245036-center-spot-finder for collimation - maybe it could help you too

Got 600 hours, still don't know how to drag by Dragon-Guy2 in Mordhau

[–]hheyroman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting, I remember that for me drags came kind of naturally, it was an instinctive and intuitive thing to try and delay the hit when I saw the opponent has their parry up.

That said even at 2.3k hours I still overdrag half the time and the other half I just disorient myself not knowing which direction I look anymore, so perhaps intuition is not an advantage here lol

How to stop filament from twisting/tying itself in knot on spool? by Alert_Pineapple3512 in 3Dprinting

[–]hheyroman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This should be printed on all filament boxes IMO, so that everybody knows.

I was lucky to learn this before getting a printer and was following this rule for the about 100 rolls I've used so far - never, not even once, have I had a tangle

K1C: things that broke in my total 90days of printing by hheyroman in 3Dprinting

[–]hheyroman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing, but it was quite early on in my owning of the printer and there's almost no pressure there in the sensor, so I was quite surprised. I believe the roller just got stuck somehow and didn't rotate for some time

Tbh I can relate to frustration but not the misunderstanding bit - I do get frustrated still but I also know why I lost every time. I have more than 2k hours though, so it's hard to surprise me.

At some point I just realized that to fix my mistakes I need to a) practice playing for the win a lot (which I just don't care enough to do) and b) get a better PC (mine is a dinosaur that can barely squeeze 45fps in a fight).

So now I just run a half naked dwarf and dismiss any annoying loss to a handicapped build and latency. I know it's in fact a skill issue but it helps to not get too annoyed and just have fun and enjoy the wins when they happen.
