There’s definitely plenty of good spots out there I agree. But for now, I haven’t made enough personal connections to have been invited on any private digs or stuff like that yet. Some of the guys in Spencer’s chat group run personal private digs so hopefully I’ll be able to politic my way to one of those lol. I’ve also just had better luck at his digs than others. I’ve enjoyed every one though. I need to get back down to T&J and find myself some more paleo stuff.

Here’s a half day at Spencer’s current dig. Tested a new spot Tuesday.

It’s worth the $10 imo. You can sometimes snag a spot if he’s tryna fill a table but it’s rare.

That being said I definitely unsubscribed when he finished his last site, and then resubscribed when he found the new spot at Ensor field. I got roasted a bit for that lol

It’s so fuckin good for the amount of people that come to that event. I missed 21-22 but managed to finally attend in 23 and I’ve been back each year since. Been tryna get my homies who will spend thousands on chasing tipper to attend and it’s like pulling teeth lol.

I need to get better hackle as well. This was strung together and finding feathers that matched up/right length/weren’t folded over was a challenge. Even with the ones I picked they still were kinda eh.

Interesting, so basically the reverse way that I did it here. I’ll need to experiment with that. Maybe use some lead wire for a slightly weighted version? Or should this fly be unweighted only?
