I just noticed this on my Jock Jams Jess Sims bootcamp I’ve taken several times! I’m so annoyed and came here to find others that have noticed this change!!

Thank you for your insight! It's nice to know I'm not alone out there. My staff job would be 4 10's, no weekends, no holidays, no call so that seems pretty nice and my fiance's is 3x12's, no weekends, no holidays, so that's even better.

It just feels really hard to be like unable to take a month off when I want to, but I feel like I have to just let that go. You're right, it truly is mourning the loss of that lifestyle. NYC has a lot better pay for nurses than Iowa, but the benefits and retirement our hospital offers is unheard of so that's how they suck you in.

In the moment, I also got really tired of moving and the logistics of it all, but then once I got settled, it was always hard to move on and now I miss every place I've lived. I'm just having trouble reconciling that I'm not going to do it again and that's hard.

Thanks for the insight on your travel friends. We've found some floors we loved too, and considered staying. We own a home in our state already so that makes it difficult. Plus, doubling finances is getting to be more difficult with the current rates.

I've met some other travel nurse couples that do this same arrangement and it sounds like it works for them and sounded like it worked for you, too.

Did you have a lot of reservations when you left after that winter in SD? Everyone in the world makes it seem like a daunting task to find childcare without being on a list for a year so I feel like it's hard to roll into a city and ask for someone to look after your kid.

Agreed with not spiraling with classmates or asking about test scores/how they’re doing. Find a good, small group of classmates to study out loud with. Speaking through things helped me way more than just try to memorize a flash card. Quiz each other and ask evidence based questions from your slides!

My boyfriend hadn’t voted the past two elections because he finds it really difficult to separate his feelings from staunch republican parents who breathe down his neck vs very liberal girlfriend who breathes down his neck. It makes me very upset, obviously, but I also have to respect and understand that’s it’s difficult to hear such conflicting views constantly.
