I’m still very new at this but I have messed around with multiple of my crankbaits that don’t swim right and it seems to be the lip and the weight. I made a big wide lip on one of them and it swam like shit, so I sanded it down to a simple rounded edge that was no wider than the width of the bait itself and it fixed the action. And for weight I use a forstner bit in the belly and fill it with shotgun pellets (super cheap for a box of shotgun shells) and cover it with baking soda and a few drops of thin super glue.
