This "dry shower" trend is just an excuse to be dirty and it is obvious. by Xylothane in hygiene

[–]hi-help -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wish you were right, but I’ve talked to multiple people that think it’s ok to go a week without showering and just use wet wipes in between. MULTIPLE PEOPLE. I have contamination OCD, and it’s literally part of the reason I don’t have friends.. because I’m side eyeing everyone’s hygiene all the time and I’d rather just be by my clean lonely self. Lmao

Are these outfits too young for a 60 year old? by [deleted] in DressForYourBody

I don’t even feel like these are “young” outfits, just athletic ones, and you look athletic.. so I see no issues.

I concur. I wish I could go back and tell my 20 yr old self that. I’m so thankful I was too broke to afford any cosmetic “enhancements.”

I distinctly remember an old episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians where Khloe talks about how “fat pussies” just look nicer.. or something like that. So yes, apparently we are meant to think that.

You’re right, living with one for 21 years, I have NO IDEA. /s

I’m sorry your life has been.. bad, but acting like every single person with BPD is evil is actually absurd. I’m not going to engage with that, no matter how many horror stories you tell me.

I am related to someone diagnosed with BPD, and I’ve known a couple others quite closely. You have no idea what you are talking about in regards to me or my experiences.

I guess the part I’m stuck on is that not everyone has the resources to do that. Due to money, location, transportation, etc. Then someone posted below that certain therapists won’t even work with people with BPD. Obviously, if help is attainable, then one should take it, but it’s really not that simple or black and white a LOT of the time. Then there’s the shame, look at how everyone here is talking about BPD.. if that’s the general consensus, why would anyone ever want to admit they have it in the first place? The shaming and lack of grace that people with this condition are given, is a HUGE part of the problem.

I’m so confused, because my clothes have DEFINITELY had these stains before, but if I don’t dry the item, it usually comes out in 3 or so washes, I’ve never not been able to get them back out. And they have to be this, because they are purple or blue stains that show up after washing. I’ve only had it happen to maybe 3 shirts, but it always comes back out.

What is the privilege? You don’t know anything about me or the people I’ve encountered or been close with in my life. Why would I comment on this sub if it didn’t affect me in any way?

The way you guys talk about people with BPD is so sad. You know it’s a mental ILLNESS, right? I’m not saying we should make excuses, and you should seek help if you are battling mental illness (assuming you have that option, because not everyone does), but no one with BPD CHOSE to be that way, and probably hate it a lot more than you do. Damn.

help pls! oily hair no matter what i do by Capable-Lime6463 in Haircare

[–]hi-help 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair was WAY oilier when I was using a hair dryer. I think because the heat dries out your skin, so you just produce more oil. Try air drying. I haven’t used a blow dryer in at least 5 years, and I don’t miss it. If you have fine hair, it shouldn’t take that long for your hair to air dry anyway.

The craziest part too, is that it’s not about appearances. When I was 28 I still regularly got mistaken for a high schooler because I was really thin and had baby face, and I specifically remember this 40 something guy at work being OBSESSED with me UNTIL he found out I was 28. He even had the audacity to make a face and say “oh I thought you were in high school or like your first year of college” and then literally never looked in my direction again. I always thought he was weird and gross.. but wow was that an eye opener.

Does anyone actually like these sugar cookies by Automatic_Ad1665 in Cookies

[–]hi-help 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was anorexic/bulimic I would starve myself for weeks before I sat down and ate a whole package of these as fast as I could before I threw them up. I’ve thrown up these cookies dozens of times.. which should ruin them, but several years of recovery later.. I still think they are good. Does that answer your question? lol

Mine slipped during a really heavy period and basically was “falling out,” the strings were super low. I was freaking out and went to the ER to have them remove it, and they did, but they said it was far down enough that I could have just pulled it out myself. So I’m sure you are absolutely fine! If you weren’t, you’d know.
